JUPITER, Fla. -- A Jupiter man was arrested this weekend for a December incident in which police say he beat a young boy who refused to eat squirrel soup and his own vomit.
Police say the incident began when Marc Smith, 50, served the child "freshly hunted squirrel soup" for breakfast.
The boy ate the soup, but then later told police that he became "violently" ill and vomited into his bowl.
According to an arrest report, the boy's refusal to continue eating angered Smith. He ordered the child to eat the vomit and remaining soup from the bowl, police said.
When the boy said no, Smith hit him with his pants belt, the report states.
