Your Evening Sift

So I get home from work tonight only to find an comment on the blog that makes baseless allegations and criticizes me for something that I wrote a day or so ago. After deleting the comment and contacting the blogger by email, I do a back and forth that results in the blogger threatening me. Watch for a post in the coming days from this blogger. He promised as much. Such is the life of SFDB. People love me. Hey, on a positive note, check out the SFDB Weekend Widget in the right sidebar and enjoy your evening Sift.

A- Salty Eggs chats with Bruce Lamont of Led Zeppelin 2, who is playing at Revolution on Friday night.
What can we expect from Friday’s show in Fort Lauderdale?

Every six to eight months or so, we try to shake it up a bit and run a couple of new songs. We’ve been doing “In the Light,” which has been going over really well, we’ve been doing “Rain Song,” and we’ve been doing more stuff off of Presence, too.

Presence is an awesome record, by the way. It’s funny, because we get reactions both ways: Some people are really appreciative of that and are like “Oh my god, you played songs the band never played before and the deep cuts” and the whole other side is like “What the fuck man, just play the hits!”
B- Eater Miami posts the results of their "Hottest Chef in Miami" contest that appears as though it was conducted all in one day.

C- Belle Isle Blog explains why Miami Beach rejected digital advertisement for bus shelters.
In its analysis of the request, Miami Beach planning staff found lots to quarrel with — the signs would require electrical power to the shelters, not just solar; they would not be restricted to residential neighborhoods; the possibility of driver distraction; the potential of the screens displaying full video. The staff recommended the requested be rejected.

On Nov. 20, Miami Beach’s Historic Preservation Board reviewed Clear Channel’s and denied it. In addition, it passed a resolution opposing any form of digital advertising.
D- Curbed Miami shares a lot of photos of the newly renovated Gale Hotel on South Beach.
We already knew about the giant roof deck spanning the top of the two buildings, which we likened to a cruise ship landing on top of two little hotels. The end result however, far from being as obnoxious as the construction shots made it seem, is actually really nice, with a pool and a series of sunny public spaces with some awesome views of the dense urbanity of Miami Beach and of the New World Symphony's outdoor movies.
E- Get your mofongo on...Jimmy'z Kitchen is open in Pinecrest, according to The305.Com.

F- Thinking of taking in some theater this weekend? Make sure you check out the South Florida Theatre Scene first.

G- Bark Bark Woof Woof reacts to Wayne LaPierre's latest demented rant.
I know there are people who live their lives in fear and who think the only thing between them and Armageddon is a gun. They’re sad cowards who don’t know and appreciate the difference between surviving and living.
