Friday Blog Notes

Time once again to highlight a few blogs/blog posts from South Florida folks that currently aren't appearing on the SFDB blogroll.

Gourmandj

Gourmandj loves food and loves to write. Hence the Wordpress blog by the same name that's been around for just about a year. Lots of good food posts, as you might expect, including a Miami Top 10 Burgers post and a recent one where they interview South Florida blogger Food for Thought and pry some secrets from him.
Gj: What is the best meal you’ve ever had?

F: It’s difficult to pick, but it might be the lunch I had at Asador Etxebarri in the Spanish Basque Country a few years ago. Everything at Etxebarri is done on a charcoal grill, the chef sources fantastic ingredients from nearby and around Spain, and cooks them perfectly.
It's another great South Florida food enthusiast blog that you should consider adding to your blogroll.

Miami Nice

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned Miami Nice here before so it won't surprise you that I'm still finding interesting posts there including a recent one that takes a look at Frangipani, a small boutique on NW 2nd Avenue in Wynwood.
Gold robots! Turkish towels! Hipster baby onsies! A little Havana cocktail glass! A little Havana bracelet! Tie-dyed shorts made by hand in the hood! A recent trip to Frangipani, a boutique right on the main stretch of NW 2nd Ave in Wynwood, left me wanting to use a whole lotta exclamation marks. If I knew how to do the upside down ones at the beginning of the sentence and wasn't too lazy to Google it - I would be using those too.

DV Digital

Dan Vidal, aka DV Digital, recently took a trip down to the Keys and came back with some great images including a killer shot of the old Bahia Honda Rail Bridge. It's near the end of the post but the extended read is definitely worth it, especially on a Friday.

Headline Miami

I thought I would give Headline Miami a shout out since they really seem to be putting in a good effort. This group blog has been around since October of last year and this is how they describe themselves...
Headline Miami is a website that is dedicated to bringing Miami-ans their daily dose of either “Holy S#!&, Why do I live here?” or “F$%$ YEAH, I love this city.” We are currently in our early stages but plan on making this website more video oriented. We want to interact with our viewers like now other local website. We will provide you with reviews of things such as food, television, movies, etc. We are a group of people dedicated to keeping Miami-cans informed and updated on what the hell is going on around these neck of the woods.
A little bit of everything here divided up in a neat, if not busy, 4-column template.
