And there's also this...
MYAKKA CITY, Fla. - Authorities in Manatee County say no charges will be filed against a woman who accidentally shot her fiancé in the leg at a gun range. These are the same folks who supposedly stand ready to engage body armor clad gun appreciators armed with AK's and AR's and hundreds of rounds of ammo as they stride through smoky, dark theaters firing at will.
The couple was with a large group shooting at Manatee Gun and Archery Club in Myakka City on Saturday afternoon.
The sheriff's office report said a casing flew from the woman's gun and landed inside her blouse, causing her to flinch. She bent over to get the casing out of her blouse when the gun accidentally fired.
The bullet hit the man in his right thigh, passing through his leg.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
I think I speak for everyone when I say, "Duck!"

What's your point? Accidents happen and people get shot. It's the price we have to pay for our freedom and liberty. People get killed in cars, too. Does that mean cars are bad?
More red herrings from Rick.
Guns are no different from other power tools. Trained workmen who spend their entire adult lives using power tools sometimes chop off fingers, hands, feet of themselves or others, sometimes resulting in death. But 99.99% of the time your lawn gets mowed without incident, your a/c is repaired without anyone electrocuted, shingles replaced without anyone getting a nail in the hand or falling off the roof. In other words, the vast majority of the time, people (even the untrained) are competent with their tools.
The same holds true for guns. For every one accident, millions of rounds are fired safely. Do you deny this fact Rick?
And do you deny that every day civilians use firearms competently and safely in self-defense situations? This documented by local news media and collected at http://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/armed-citizen.aspx ? What is your response to all of those successful civilian armed defenses? They just got lucky?
And tell me what kind of training the Syrian civilian rebels have had, who are pushing back against Asaad? They seem to be doing a pretty good job of taking on a military with nothing more than assault rifles and no training. Why aren't they shooting themselves and each other as you predict? Because as you seem to argue, only the special Agents of the State with State Sponsored Training are competent enough to handle firearms, right?
The picture you try to paint that all civilians are like keystone cops when it comes to guns is simply untrue and unfounded. Finding a video on youtube or newstory of isolated events proves nothing.
But keep it up, the ranks of the NRA keep swelling thanks to your hatred and demonizing.
does honey boo boo have a gun yet?
git ur gun on Rick, it's sooo 2013..u kin keep ur bullets right next to that pack of genric cigs and the glass for ur teeth on ur nightstand..hee haw..cuz we know all REAL 'muricans like guns!
JM is soooo borrrrring.
Yet another reason your "duck" comment is unfounded is that in 2012, Newsweek reported that 'law-abiding American citizens using guns in self-defense during 2003 shot and killed two and one-half times as many criminals as police did, and with fewer than one-fifth as many incidents as police where an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%).'
Dirty little secret that law enforcement doesn't want the public to know is that their "qualifications" standards for firearms safety and competence are very low. That is not to say that many leos do not train (and compete) on their own for both business and pleasure, and do very well, but many of them are less competent than the average civilian.
BTW Rick, you threaten (and sometimes follow through) to delete my comments for not following your rules, yet you never delete comments of the kind "miaexile" posted, which are clearly off-topic personal attacks on me. Why is that?
Here: add these to the collection:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/29/opinion/nocera-and-in-last-weeks-gun-news.html?_r=0
The point? Wing Nuts could give an obese rodent's posterior about gun safety. Fat ass got what he deserved.
"BTW Rick, you threaten (and sometimes follow through) to delete my comments for not following your rules, yet you never delete comments of the kind "miaexile" posted, which are clearly off-topic personal attacks on me. Why is that?"
Because it's my blog! It's funny how that works.
So anonymous at 11:33 has it right I guess...accidents are bound to happen and innocent people getting shot are just part of the price we pay for our liberty.
Your home improvement analogies are, well, breathtaking, Jewish Marksman.
.
"innocent people getting shot are just part of the price we pay for our liberty"
Nobody is saying that. Stupid laws that will only change the type of gun they get shot with are not the answer.
Will accidents happen, as price of liberty? Of course, just like kids will drown in pools and drunks will kill people.
Here's Jewess Marxman denying that anyody says "Innocent people getting shot are just part of the price we pay for our liberty," then in the next breath saying exactly that. "Accidents will happen, as price of liberty."
OK, Rick, you blew it with this one. Nobody can be this blunt-brained. There is no JM, is there? He's a fictional entity, a straw man you created to mouth the most outrageous, stoopid stereotyped gunnie-arguments so that your readers would have something to mock and jeer, and keep the dialog entertaining.
Great job, and sort of sorry to blow the cover, but please take it as congratulations on a scam well pulled.
Nope. He's real, alright. Same commenter who says "a .22 for every Jew" and argues that a guy with AK-47 and a little motivation can beat back the U.S. Army who, working in concert with Obama, will be coming for our guns.
The crazy thing is that there are hundreds of thousands like him in this country.
.
I didn't see the point of this post, really. It really has nothing to do with the NRA. Accidents do happen. It's life.
At the same time, I've grown more than tired of the nonsensical ranting of Jewish Marksman in every one of these gun-related posts. Each comment he makes is a goddamn novel.
Dude, here's a tip: you aren't going to change anyone's opinion on gun law through your rants and ridiculously long posts. Save yourself the time and aggravation.
