Good morning.

Monday, Monday. It was actually a fairly busy Sunday night in the SoFla blogosphere. I have a full day of posts for you, but first we need to take care of your morning Sift.

A- Belle Isle Blog discusses the implementation of SunPass on the Venetian Causeway.

Island residents will still be able to buy an annual $24 pass to use the causeway (it will be part of the SunPass programming), and commuters can pay $90 for annual use. But there is concern on the Venetian Islands that allowing everyone to pass through the toll with an electronic device would lead to more speeding on the residential causeway.

B- They're arming school janitors in at least one school in Ohio, according to Bark Bark Woof Woof.

They are hard workers, and they are poorly paid. They are usually the first to be let go when a school district is under a budget crunch, which is practically all the time. So adding the extra burden of training them and then giving them the duty of being the school’s protection squad is just desperately stupid.

C- Eye on Miami makes an interesting find in political spending.

D- Yoga Night at the New World Symphony was a big hit this weekend, says Salty Eggs.

It was hard not to be filled with gratitude: a beautiful brisk night, the breeze tinted with the salty body of the Atlantic two blocks away. All this community, under the expansive sky, in juxtaposition to the rest of the city, sandwiched between the sounds of buses blaring down 17th street and the heartbeat of commerce of Lincoln Road; how collective, subtle, and peaceful.
