I like work weeks that start on Wednesday. Here's your evening Sift.
A- The Reid Report served up some Republican schadenfreude today.
B- Bark Bark Woof Woof discusses the way Republicans are mocking Hillary Clinton's concussion and blot clot because, you know, that's what sociopaths do.
Meanwhile, the vultures on the right are saying it’s either a conspiracy to keep her from testifying about Benghazi or that President Obama ordered a hit on her so she would never testify (I’m not making that up but I refuse to link to the site that’s saying that because my mom taught me better than that). They’re also saying that it proves she’s too old or too frail to run for president in 2016 when she’ll be the same age as Ronald Reagan was when he ran in 1980.C- Apparently the po-po are only supposed to conduct DUI checkpoints at certain locations during certain times, according to one, seemingly very entitled, Miami defense attorney...at Random Pixels.
D-Is Swampstyle eluding to hanging it up?
To continue the habit to publish,E- Food for Thought presents Part II of his 45 Best Dishes of 2012.
will most certainly lead to more rubbish.
Some would be please to see swampstyle deleted,
but so long as there's new years, I won't be defeated.
F- The 99% were sure spending their dollars on waterfront Miami Beach homes in 2012, as Miamism shows us.
Miami Beach’s waterfront housing market has not only recuperated, but has come ahead faster than anyone could have predicted. We are asked often why we think this is and the answer is very simple: Miami Beach is still coveted amongst celebrities and the wealthy because there is a certain lifestyle you can’t get anywhere else, because of the fact that we are so easily accessible, because of our year-round great weather, and simply because Miami is a beautiful place.G- Curbed Miami wonders whether the rumors about the revival of Eastern Airlines are true.
H- Eater Miami reports that Barceloneta has opened a 2nd location in Miami-Dade County.
The ever-expanding Pubbelly empire is at it again. This time, they've opened their first duplicate of a popular South Beach eatery down closer to folks in the Gables/South Miami area: Barceloneta Sunset.

C. maybe the lawyer should give the police his number so they can call him and pass on their plans.
This is Miami where defense lawyers give THEIR schedules to the local PDs and expect them to stay out of their way.
What a waste of money by the police. Don't they know that people only drive drunk after 9 at night?
I agree with the attny and Random. Why would they have a checkpoint going TO the Beach at that time?
Granted, they did make some arrests and issue citations, but the same time and manpower at a checkpoint later at night on the way OFF the beach probably would've been much more effective in stopping DUIs.
