A woman was killed Sunday afternoon after police say she fell in a crosswalk and was run over by a minivan west of Boca Raton.B- CBS4: Life in South Florida.
Rosalind Pantell, 89, of the nearby Century Village retirement community, was trying to cross Glades Road at U.S. 441 at 12:26 p.m. when she was struck by a Honda Odyssey making a right turn from Glades onto 441, according to a report by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Two animals, which had been decapitated and thrown into Biscayne Bay, washed up behind a South Beach condo Sunday morning.C- WPLG: South Beach shooting.
Animal activist Richard Couto, a founder and investigator of the Animal Recovery Mission, fished the carcasses of the decapitated goat and chicken out of the water behind The Floridian condominium on West Avenue and waited for the sanitation department to remove the animals, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
Couto speculated that the animals had been killed as part of a Santeria or Palo Mayombe ritual.
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Miami Beach Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead outside of his South Beach Apartment.D- WPTV: At least he's bipartisan.
The shooting happened at 11:15 a.m. Saturday morning at 1361 Euclid Avenue. Police quickly caught up with the suspect near 16th Street and Alton Road.
Police said they believe the alleged shooter and the victim knew each other, and that this was not a random act of violence.
BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Eighteen months in prison for threatening to kill former President George W. Bush in 2001 didn't have the desired effect on Stephen Espalin.
The Palm Beach County man is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10 for threatening to assassinate President Obama, the First Family and their dog, Bo.
Espalin, 57, was being treated for heart attack symptoms at Boca Raton Regional Hospital on Dec. 9, 2010, when he told Secret Service agents that he intended to kill the president. He claimed he shipped a bomb to the White House that day.
