The 2012 Post of the Year Nominees were posted yesterday, if you didn't noticed, and the Post of the Week selections continue. Here are last week's best as I saw them.
Runners-Up: Foodalogue composed a fun post that illustrated just how tough a food blogger's life can be...NOT! The post was well-received by readers and got a number of comments. The recent lifting of Cuban travel restrictions prompted an informative post from On Two Shores that provided a first person historical perspective that other Cuban-American bloggers can't even touch. Salty Eggs was the only South Florida blog to cover Yoga Night at the New World Symphony and I thought the writing of their post was exceptional.
Winner: Eye on Miami makes their bones by addressing political and environmental stories that don't seem to attract the attention of the local mainstream media. Sometimes they hit it big, sometimes not so much. Last week they got a hold of an eye-opening video that shows some very questionable waste disposal by Miami-Dade County. There seems to be a lot of unanswered questions in Investigative Report: This Is NOT How You Deal With Toxic Material but the significance of posting the video and shining light on the matter is pure EoM and something that I think deserves this week's SFDB Post of the Week recognition.
Voting for the 2012 SFDB Post of the Year is going on right now. Look for the winner to be announced next week.
'Til next time, keep on blogging!
