SFDB December Post Of The Month: The Nominees

Presenting the nominees for the SFDB December Post of the Month.

Nominee #1:"Celebrity Reflection Sets Sail from Miami"

South Florida Food and Wine takes us onboard the new and luxurious Celebrity Reflection and acquaints with the accommodations. There's plenty of detail and [pun alert!] a boatload of images that accompanies the narrative and makes the post so illuminating and interesting.

Nominee #2: "Fishing Adventures in Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands"

Sex and the Beach has a passion for fishing that goes back a number of years. Her latest post on the subject takes us to the Southwest Coast of the Sunshine State for an exciting day of angling where the Big One doesn't get away. Lots of photos and breathless narrative keeps this long post interesting.

Nominee #3: "Chronicles of a Cuban Rapero"

Long Play Miami continues their string of interesting and informative posts with a profile of Cuban rapper Yrak Saenz, who is now a Miami Shores resident. This post is not only Saenz's story but the story of Cuban rap and the strange symbiotic relationship it has maintained with the Castro regime. As is their custom, Long Play Miami includes a subject interview in the post that is very well written and smartly imaged.

Nominee #4: "Cobaya Gets Cruxed"

The Cobaya dining experiments that Food for Thought helps organize usually go off without a hitch. The grandiose dinners are flawlessly presented, enjoyed by the attending "guinea pigs" and discussed in great detail until the next Cobaya dinner is held. The latest in this series of events almost didn't happen due to a series of seemingly insurmountable challenges that the guest chef and his supporting staff experienced at the last moment. That story and how all of that drama was overcome, as well as Food for Thought's customary insight and imaging of the meal that was created that night is documented for readers in this post. It's an interesting and sometimes nail-biting read.

Four solid posts that the 17 SFDB Editors are going to mull over for the next few days in order to select December's Post of the Month. The deadline for their deliberations is this Friday, January 11th at 10 PM. The results should be announced here the following week.

December's selection will round out 2012's PotM selections and get us ready for the Big One: The 2012 SFDB Post of the Year.

As always, feel free to add your own thoughts about the above nominated posts in the comments below.
