Get ready to be amazed. But as you watch it, ask yourself if this guy, or anyone like him, should be allowed to own a firearm.
The 2nd part of this circus, which isn't much better, can be viewed here.
Here's what Esquire Magazine's Charles Pierce had to say about Alex Jones...
Alex Jones’s gun rant on Piers Morgan would border on absurd if it was written in Sorkinese for HBO’s The Newsroom, but it’s actually more terrifying in reality. After invoking the names of Hitler and Stalin, and then browbeating the British host for our victory in the Revolutionary War a couple hundred years ago, Jones offers to take Morgan shooting so he can “become an American.” Because to Jones and others, guns, and our right to own them regardless of the violence in Aurora and Newtown, is apparently what defines us as a country.Which then leads me to this former Marine who recently appeared on Fox...
Joshua is a little calmer than Alex but likes to repeat the same extremist rhetoric that compares the our government to dictatorial and tyrannical governments of old. They're both, obviously, hearing the same voices.
They're out there, folks.

Rick says we gun owners have nothing to fear from progressives like him.
Yet he posts here, "ask yourself if this guy, or anyone like him, should be allowed to own a firearm."
In reality, Rick repeatedly advocates for prohibiting gun ownership based on political ideology. The American citizen in the video, while eccentric, is not likely mentally ill or a clear and present danger to anyone. Yet Rick wants to deny that citizen a fundamental constitutional right based on that citizen's political leanings. Rick has not explicitly stated so, but he also seems to believe the same about Miguel at GunFreeZone, again, solely because Rick does not like Miguel's politics or worldview. Rick, how about it, do you have any objection to Miguel and those who share his views owning a gun?
I know you like to pick apart these posts Jewish Marksman but what is your reaction to what Alex Jones and Joshua say?
I forgot to add that I don't remember Rick ever saying a certain ideology shouldn't own guns? When did he say that?
Dez-
1. "what is your reaction to what Alex Jones and Joshua say?"
Unlike Rick, I would not prohibit those gentlemen from owning guns based on their political views. I do not react with horror when a citizen exercises his First Amendment Rights to voice political views different than mine.
"Rick ... saying a certain ideology shouldn't own guns? When did he say that?
Re-read the post: Rick commands his readers to "ask yourself if this guy, or anyone like him, should be allowed to own a firearm."
Dez-
Of course, Rick can easily refute me by declaring that he has no opposition to the gentlemen in the videos owning firearms, or Miguel, and I will gladly stand corrected.
yes, i read the post and it seems to me that it's more a question being asked based on the man's obvious temper problems.
But you said that he "repeatedly advocates"....like I said, I don't remember that. When else has he said that people of a certain ideology should not own guns?
Thanks.
"When else has he said that people of a certain ideology should not own guns?"
Rather than waste our time reviewing posts that we might disagree on interpretation, let's just wait for Rick to go on record and answer that he has no opposition to the gentlemen in the videos or Miguel at GFZ or me owning firearms.
Okay, so while we wait for that why don't you answer the other question I asked about what Jones and Joshua said. Do you agree that the government could confiscate everyone's firearms like Nazi Germany did? Do you think it's going to be 1776 all over again like Jones said?
The sun rises in the West and sets in the East...depends on interpretation, I'll explain later.
Dez-
"Do you agree that the government could confiscate everyone's firearms like Nazi Germany did?"
I am not sure what you are asking. Are you asking whether the US federal government or a state government could *legally* confiscate everyone's firearms (broadly construing the term firearm)? Are you asking whether either entity would be practically capable of carrying that out? Are you asking whether elements within either entity plan or hope to, now or in the future?
"Do you think it's going to be 1776 all over again like Jones said?"
Again, what are the conditions precedent? At this time, there is no legislation under active consideration, nor has Obama issued an executive order although today Biden hinted at one:
www.politico.com/politico44/2013/01/biden-executive-action-can-be-taken-on-guns-153729.html
I can't possibly answer your question without knowing what specific legislation or executive order gun owners would be subjected to.
And since we are waiting for Rick to get marching orders from his moveon.org handlers, what about you Dez? Should the gentlemen in the videos be allowed to won firearms? What about Miguel at GFZ? What about me?
"Should the gentlemen in the videos be allowed to won firearms?"
I'm not sure what you are asking. Which gentlemen? And what kind of firearms? Are you asking if they should be able to keep them in their homes? Are you talking about now...or in the future?
"What about Miguel at GFZ? What about me? "
Again...what do you mean? What about Miguel and you? What are you asking? I can't answer the question unless I know specifically what you are asking me about.
I will take your sophomoric response as a "no" and include you among those like Rick who consider unoffensive political views as a condition for a citizen's ownership of firearms.
It took some time, but the masks are finally coming off.
What do you mean by "sophomoric?" You won't answer my questions. As a result, I have no other choice but to conclude that you don't want to have an intellectual conversation.
Nice conversation.
I like how Jewish Marksman's idea of an intellectual conversation is classified as "sophomoric" by Jewish Marksman when someone other than Jewish Marksman does it.
Funny how that works.
Anyway, to the Big Question posed by JM (which he has already answered for me a couple times)...
"Rick, how about it, do you have any objection to Miguel and those who share his [political] views owning a gun?"
I don't know Miguel's political views. I suspect he's Libertarian and he's definitely Tea Party...but beyond that, no clue. But I'm going to answer "yes" anyway. As in "Yes, I have a problem with Tea Party types owning guns."
I also think people who own Toyota Camrys with stuffed animals on the back windowsill should have their guns confiscated. Especially beige Camrys. Oh, and also those idiots who stand in line in front of me at Starbucks and order like it's their first time ever in a Starbucks. No guns for them, too. And you know those motorcyclists who move up to the front of the line at red lights. Bastards! No guns for them either.
Because when I don't like someone I don't think they should have access to guns. Sound stupid, JM? Well, it is. But it's how you think. The last paragraph should demonstrate just how stupid. If you're paying attention, that is, and not formulating some asinine question in your mind to ask me in order to avoid the real issue.
Alex Jones has some obvious problems with his temper and based on some of the things he said here it may even be more than that. But just like I don't want a loose cannon behind the wheel of a car, I don't want Alex Jones packing. I think that's reasonable to most people although I would bet a week's salary that you're going to have a real problem with it for some reason or another.
Either that or you'll have another question.
.
I concluded several posts ago that while engaging JM in a conversation is amusing, like teasing a kitten with a feather, it's ultimately futile. The poor fellow is truly incapable of processing information rationally, although he has a talent for regurgitating tautologies and slogans.
There really needs to be dialog and action on the crisis Americans face regarding the danger we confront with so many deadly weapons in the hands of so many dangerous people. It's not a debate about the technicalities of those weapons, and it's not a debate about 2A rights. JM's idiotic recitation of details regarding both only obscure the main issues. He knows it, too.
As a famous American poet noted, You don't need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. Well, most of us, anyway.
"obvious problems with his temper"
Ridiculous. He may be a little "high strung" by South Florida standards, but you've apparently never seen any New Yorkers go at it in a heated argument over Mets vs. Yankees, or Chicagoans Cubs v. Sox. No punches were thrown, no shoving. Mr. Jones may not be polite, but the First Amendment gives him that freedom.
Does he have a criminal record? Any reported or suspected domestic abuse? Do you have any proof whatsoever of your defamatory statement?
And in any case, it does not appear that mild "anger management" issues are the cause of mass shootings. Rather, the clinical problems with the perpetrators run much deeper.
"based on some of the things he said here it may even be more than that"
I assume you mean his 9/11 theories? Umm...doesn't Michael Moore espouse similar views in Fahrenheit 911? So would you also oppose Michael Moore's gun ownership? I classify those as political views. They may be extreme and unsound, but that does not mean there is any reason to suspect him or Michael Moore of not being responsible and capable of firearms ownership, or a physical threat to anyone. Or is it his dislike of Piers Morgan? So now anti-immigrant views are grounds for disqualification from 2A rights?
All I read in your response is a "more enlightened than thou" progressive arbitrarily and capriciously deciding who should and should not be entitled to own a firearm. You stand ready to strip Mr. Jones of his rights solely because he is an obnoxious boor on television.
Re: Toyota Camrys: all your little sarcastic games accomplish is to prove that you don't even have the cohones to honestly and unequivocally admit you don't want me, Miguel, Babalu, or any other dissident to the progressive movement owning guns.
Shut up, asshat, and quit misrepresenting what I say. I gave you your answer which is more than you've ever done here at SFDB. You're ruining my evening. I think you're finished.
Good night.
.
I said you're done.
