Ironically, the slave rebellion led by Nat Turner in 1831 didn't use guns because they were too noisy.
The outcome of the revolt, with guns or not, though, did not end well for the slaves.

The topic is the appropriateness of a "gun appreciation day" coinciding with MLK day. You made a snarky comment "Meet your well-regulated militia, America" in response to a video of a white man arguing in justification.
Directly on-topic, in order to rebut your snarky comment, I presented you the URLs of two very popular pro-gun blogs run by African Americans, one a pastor, the other a well respected attorney. If you bothered to click on either link, you would see that both of those gentlemen prominently display their portraits on their blogs, for all the world to know they are African American.
In the case of Mr. Blanchard, I have *personally* confirmed that he does not oppose "gun appreciate day" coinciding with MLK day.
So clearly, Rick, what you did was not intended to eliminate "spam". You deleted my comment because you want to hide from your reader the fact that two black men are prominent pro-gun bloggers, and at least one sides with Gun Appreciate Day. Why are you afraid of your readers finding out that two black men are prominent pro-gun bloggers, Rick?
Because if my readers found out that black men are pro-gun owners it would totally blow their minds. I don't want them to ever know that, JM. It would validate everything that you are saying and render my arguments useless.
BTW, when making this argument, JM, it would also be appropriate to note that you, JM, have black friends, thus proving the point that blacks can also befriend NRA members let alone Jewish NRA members.
If you really want me to beg for mercy, note that a lot of the Chicago gang members who used firearms to commit murders in that city last year were also black. Thus further solidifying the fact that blacks and guns get along just fine, thank you.

What's truly amazing is your avoidance of harmless dialogue.
I guarantee you if you check out Mr. Blanchard's site and listen to his podcasts, it will be 180 degrees from what you expect. Or read attorney Puryear's web site. Or pro-gun Jewish groups. There is even a group called "Pink Pistols", a pro-gun GLBT gun rights group that submitted an amicus brief in the Heller case.
You say to your readers "Meet your well-regulated militia, America," but the truth is, you yourself are actually afraid to do that, and afraid what will happen if your readers do so.
And then, you refer to your fellow citizens as "those people."
Come on Rick, let's have a hug and talk this thing through. We know you're scared. But although we may shoot, we don't bite. Dialogue is a two way street, and only works if you actually make an attempt to participate.
I want a pinky swear with that hug, JM?
Oh, we know you shoot. Everyone knows you shoot. Your kind has proved that over and over again.
There's a lot of days between now and the 19th. I'm going to highlight some more of those who shoot and, like you, appreciate guns.
