Good morning.
It's Friday. That's more than enough although there's the SFDB Weekend Sift in the right sidebar to review, too. So much goodness. Here's your morning Sift.
A- Hello, I'm Scott gets knocked off his scooter in a hit-and-run traffic accident and wants some justice.
What I want is simple: I want the person that hit me and then drove off to be held accountable. I want an apology. I want him to pay for the damages to my scooter. And if I have medical issues as a result of him slamming into me, I want him to pay for them. I don’t want $8.2M. I’m not looking to cash out. I just want what is fair. I want justice.B- Summer and winter colors in the swamp...at Go Hydrology!
C- Food for Thought posts one of his shorter Cobaya reviews.
When we asked Hinckley to do a Cobaya dinner with us, the menu he created embodied a few themes which I anticipate will also be a focus of Box Park: whole animal utilization; local products; and "alternative" proteins - alligator, rabbit and duck were well represented at our dinner, along with the omnipresent pig.D- Eye on Miami posts a homemade video documenting their visit to Art Basel.
E- Never forget. And Bark Bark Woof Woof doesn't.

A: A coworker had a very similar experience on Miami Beach (she was rear ended by a rental car, hit and run.) Since there were no injuries and property damage was minimal, the police did very little except for providing a report. So she did what everybody does: took the report to an attorney who then sued the rental agency. I don't think she got an apology or the other driver gout his out-of-state license suspended, but she did get a significant sum. Presumably the rental company then goes after the driver for reimbursement, or maybe the guy bought full coverage.
It seems that's the system that the police, the insurance and most people are reduced to resort to. I would say to Scott to not think of it as "cashing out". Often an insurance settlement (and at least in his case there's insurance if it's a legitimate insurance company, it could have been any of the zillions of uninsured drivers in Miami) is as must justice as we can hope to get.
Homemade? You mean like a loaf of banana bread? I am using my Apple Store Tutorials to the extreme on these excellent productions. The music actually begins and ends when the video does...and not abruptly. That is a major feat...for me.
Thanks for linking to, as I call it, my damn video.
It's actually damn good, GoD.
I take that back. Can you wait a minute while I clear that opinion with Random Pixels?
