Your Morning Sift

Good morning.

58 years ago today Burger King opened their first restaurant right here in Miamah, Florida. So go out and have a Whopper today. Here's your morning Sift.

A- Miami Urbanist reminds us that the free shuttle service for Art Basel begins today.

B- Obalesque finds that a new Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood is a fine metaphor for today's South Florida and America.

C-Nothing could be satisfying these days than to watch the Tea Party turn on its own...at Bark Bark Woof Woof.
They’ve been working on destroying the Democrats and Barack Obama for so long and not only did he get re-elected, the Democrats actually gained seats in the House and Senate.
D- The Reid Report details why Republicans are having such a difficult time making a deal with Democrats on the budget.
It’s not because they care about deficits. More than 40 years of GOP history, from Reagan’s deficit-exploding tax cuts to George W. Bush’s, on top of massive defense spending, wars paid for off the books, the budget-shredding “war on terror” and Medicare Part D — which was also not paid for — proves that Dick Cheney wasn’t kidding back in the day when he said that “deficits don’t matter.” Specifically, they don’t matter to Republicans. What matters to Republicans is rich people. The rich people who give money to their campaigns, to be very specific about it.
E- Is Eye on Miami on to something?
