Busy day in the South Florida blogosphere. My estimate is that the Big Slowdown for the holidays begins on Friday. First we have some Sifts to get through. Enjoy.
A- Worst Pizza enjoyed Giotto Pizza on West Avenue in Miami Beach.
If Giotto Pizza could get their crust right, they could have a contender here. Giotto Pizzeria is a place I would definitely go back to and try again. It should be noted that they are members of the Acrobatic Pizza Team so ask them to toss some dough while you are there eating.B- Miami Beach 411 posts a general guide for New Year's Eve in Miami and Miami Beach.
C- Miami Dish chats with Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith about her Easy-Bake Oven.
D- Salty Eggs makes the case for repealing the 2nd Amendment.
This is a weird headline coming from me, I know — long-time readers of my screeds (Hi, Mom!) will know that one major sticking point I have with liberal acquaintances is my defense of the Bill of Rights; the whole thing, not just the ones I like. And above and beyond that, I enjoy shooting firearms. I like to put holes in paper targets. It makes loud noise, to which I have always been partial, and it’s a fun way to test your hand-eye coordination. But my enjoyment at passing the time knocking out a few rounds on the range simply doesn’t hold up to the downsides of the ready availability of firearms in this country. I should also add that I don’t believe the Second Amendment will ever be repealed, even though it should. And until that happens, I don’t think it’s incumbent on anyone to disarm.E- Arterpillar shares a bunch of links collected from various South Florida art blogs.
F- Speaking of art, Culture Designers has a video they produced around the Art Basel time frame.
G- Time for another Aventura vista at Miamism Pix.
H- Eater Miami reports on the "temporary closing" of the brand new Cooper Avenue during high season when it's cooler in South Florida for "air conditioning issues."
I- On Two Shores notes the strange partisanship that exists in some Cuban families.
