Your Evening Sift

First day back in the day tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted. Here's your evening Sift, readers.

A- Miami Transit seems to question the police report of a recent Brickell Avenue accident that injured a pedestrian.
What is bewildering is that the police report says her estimated speed was 25 miles per hour, though multiple witnesses to Transit Miami report she was moving closer to 40-50 mph in the 30mph zone. The parked Nissan Murano SUV that Buchman smashed into traveled about 30 feet, indicating a much higher speed than 25 mph.
B- On the 4th Day of Bourbon Christmas Blind Tastes gives us another gift suggestion for the bourbon drinker in your life.

C- A popular Southern California burger chain is opening an outpost in Miami, according to Eater Miami.
Serving "fine dining fast food," Umami produces all of its own condiments, cheeses, and grinds its meat in-house throughout the day. All beef patties are made with hand-ground, hand-formed Wagyu beef. Umami SOBE will be opening at 1080 Alton Road, the former location of burger joints 8 oz. Burger Bar and the super quick-lived American Burger.
D- Christmas cookies at South Florida Food and Wine.

E- Beached Miami posts Part One of their Top 50 South Florida Songs of 2012.

F- Shorter Gun Free Zone...
Guns in schools would keep deranged mass murderers away.
G- Curbed Miami offers up a map of a few Miami-Dade Christmas light displays.

H- Birds and a dog...at Hello, I'm Scott.

I- Eat It, Miami suggests you check out the grill man with the "black sounding" name at Johnny Rockets next time you're at Aventura.
Dude is so fast and good at the burger preparation that you are mesmerized by him. I've always gotten a kick out of when people have such good training, practice, and muscle memory, that their craft is as second nature as walking and breathing, and this guy is in that category.
