I'm still afflicted with this stomach bug. Hopefully, I wake up with a voracious appetite tomorrow. Here's your evening Sift.
A- Salty Eggs reviews what kind of man Allen West is and will always be.
Allen West may have lost the election, but he has already lost far more. He is not crazy. But he is a hateful, spiteful, vindictive clown, and even a cesspool like Washington is better off without him. This country faces serious problems, from unemployment and debt at home to multiple crises abroad, especially throughout the Middle East. And none of these problems will be solved by a man who believes that the jobless are lazy bums on the take and that Muslims are all just suicide bombers waiting to happen.B- Gun Free Zone posts an image of the cover of an insurrectionist book on making explosive devices because a guy with his girth and range time can still dream, can't he?

H- Justice Building Blog issues an apology.
To the extent we engaged in piling on, mea culpa. These two lawyers, like our clients and like anyone, are entitled to a full and fair hearing before any final conclusions are reached. We are ever mindful that this humble blog is widely read and that people's reputations are at stake. Before this controversy, Michael Tein and Guy Lewis enjoyed sterling reputations in the legal community. Reputations that were well earned. To that end we pledge to be more discerning in our coverage of this and other cases. We do no wrong by re-printing allegations in the Herald. But we violate our own DNA by jumping to conclusions not supported by the evidence.I- Get your Thanksgiving Day plans together at South Florida Food and Wine.

C-North Miami, best kept secret in Dade county.
Posted over at Curbed Miami...
The geography is the key and I remain dumbfounded as to why the city of North Miami remains locked in the "blue collar" past. I live here, between West Dixie and Biscayne, north of 135th street. I can zip over the 163rd street causeway and be standing on the beach at Haulover in 15 minutes. I can bike to Lorenzos just up the street. I can bike to 3(!) Publix grocery stores within 10minutes. Costco, Target the same. Walgreens all over the place. Movie house in Eastern Shores, 10 minutes. Aventura Mall, 10 minutes. Home Depot etc etc...and I have a huge yard with fantastic mango and avocado trees - yet, yet, yet...people think I live in Opa Locka when I tell them where I live. Of course, when I lived in "historic Bayside" years ago, people thought I lived in the capital of crack ho's and drive by's.. Go figure. It's time for people to dig a little bit deeper than the surface to see what a terrific place North Miami already is and what the future for this area holds. If you like spending time lots of frustrating time in your car to get anywhere, then North Miami is not for you.
