Your Evening Sift

Lots of folks taking about the Book Fair today. Make sure you check out all their recommendations. Enjoy your evening Sift, readers.

A- Nikon Miami posts a beautiful collection of photos from the Dry Tortugas.

B- Burger Beast liked Frenchie's Bistro in west Kendall.
The Do It Again Waffle was my dessert of choice. The desserts are set up to be Crepes but you can upgrade to a Waffle for a couple of bucks. I was in 2 bites before I gave up. I was stuffed but those 2 last bites were important for closure, lol.
C- Transit Miami shares an email he got from a reader in Oakland, California, that describes the benefits of closing streets for an event like Art Walk.

D- Worst Pizza reveals their secret for decent pizza.
While contemplating whether or not we should get the buffet or regular lunch specials, I noticed they had an amazing pizza lunch deal at only $3.99 for two slices and a soda. Even bad pizza is decent at this price.
E- Where to eat if you go to the Miami Book Fair International...at Miami Dish.

F- Miami Urbanist takes us for a tour around a unique motorcycle shop that just opened in Wynwood named House of Thunder.
House of Thunder isn’t just any old bike shop. It’s got a touch of style with some beautiful old motorcycles on display and it even has a coffee bar.
G- Recommendations for the Miami Book Fair International from Beached Miami, Miami Dish and Salty Eggs.

H- Political Cortadito discusses some of the reasons why the Republican Party lost so badly last week.
But the message itself has to change, as well. Republicans, particularly before the primary (and people do not forget that easy), were extremists on social issues in a way most voters — as the old puritans die and the young moderates grow — don’t want hear from your government: Burn all immigrants to the ground, reprogram anyone who loves within their gender, differentiate between “legitimate rape” and illegitimate rape and dictate what Ladra should do with her vagina. Um, no. Apparently, many voters agree. Even Republican stalwarts are saying that priorities got screwed up.
I- Curbed Miami finds some interesting South Beach short term rentals that can be picked up online.
If you don't mind renting an overnight or short term room, apartment, entire house, or hey, even a houseboat, from a real person, then AirBnB - the start-your-own-BnB-in-your-guest-bedroom website - is totally the place for your. And it's got some spectacularly gorgeous listings for total bargains.
