The Cooler

There's some strange news stories in this morning's Cooler. Check them out.

A- Palm Beach Post: Someone finally put the lid on the trash can up in Palm Beach County.
Republican U.S. Rep. Allen West is announcing today that he won’t challenge Democrat Patrick Murphy’s narrow victory in their nationally watched battle for the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast congressional District 18 seat.

“While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election,” West says in a statement released this morning.

A West Palm Beach man remained in jail Monday after he allegedly took his roommate against her will, punched her in the face numerous times, choked her and handcuffed her to a water heater in an abandoned apartment, according to police.
C- Herald: Late, even by Miami standards.
Madonna’s Miami fans were kept waiting for hours Monday night for her to take the stage — and many took to Twitter to vent.

The Material Girl did not appear at the AmericanAirlines Arena stage until just after 11:30 p.m., about an hour and a half from her typical 10 p.m. concert appearances, while the show time is advertised as 8 p.m.
D- Herald: Get your Gucci.
Just in time for holiday shopping, Gucci will open an outlet store at Sawgrass Mills.

This will be the first outlet store in South Florida for the luxury retailer. The exact date of the opening has not been set, but it will be before Thanksgiving. The store will be temporarily located at The Oasis at Sawgrass Mills, but will then move after the holidays to a permanent location as part of the ongoing expansion of The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills. The 40,000-square-foot expansion is expected to be completed early next year.
E- Herald: Morin.

F- TC Palm: It's a Port St. Lucie thang.
PORT ST. LUCIE — Someone apparently left a severed hog's head in the swale of a man's home and also a hog's hide draped over his mailbox, according to a Port St. Lucie police report released Monday.

A 60-year-old man told police Saturday that he came outside his home in the 4400 block of Southwest Fireside Circle and noticed the hog's head in the swale. The hog's hide was covering his mailbox.
