Some Final Election Thoughts

And so it's almost over. Tomorrow is Election Day.

After 4 years of calling this president every name in the book, they expect us to respect them. After discounting 47% of Americans, they now want us to believe that these people suddenly matter. After vowing to cut social programs for the middle class and the poor and holding this country hostage in order to preserve tax cuts for the wealthy, they now want us to think that they will be even-handed and will be advocates for everyone. After 4 years of listening to conservative media use ugly racial stereotypes freely and without shame and without criticism from their fellow conservatives, they want us to think that this has absolutely nothing to do with race, no sirree. And after hearing conservative clergy and politicians tell us that we're going to Hell unless we vote for Republicans, we're supposed to sit and listen to the oh-so sanctimonious lecture us on how Obama is The Divider?

I call bullshit.

We all know who and what they are and what they represent.

And I say today that a vote for Obama tomorrow is one way of holding them accountable for the shitstorm they've created in this country for the last 12 years.

I don't know what Wednesday morning will bring. But I sure hope that the vote totals are such that Republicans get the message that America is damn tired of the anti-intellectualism, lies, divisiveness and bigotry that they've been pushing for the last 4 years. An Obama win will be a message to the world that the majority of this country does not tolerate the crap that the Republican Party espouses to each and every day. We're better than that.

Tomorrow, reject it. And vote your conscience.

Rick, seriously ? You gotta lay off the MSNBC. I suggest you wean yourself off by switching to CNN as a first step.
