Your Evening Sift

The turnpike was a mess this evening in far west Miami-Dade because the roads were damp. Ahhhh, Mother Nature. How you love screwin' with South Floridians. Here's your pretty decent Monday evening Sift.

A- Gun Free Zone gets interviewed by the librul USA Today who posts a photo of him that makes it look as if he's some kind of Angry White Guy with a gun fetish. Damn you, lamestream media!

B- Miamism has their monthly real estate report for selected Miami-Dade neighborhoods.
This improving real estate market is getting boring to report on. No ugly pictures, no gruesome news, just good ol’ positive news.
C- D. Wade on video at Critical Mass, courtesy of The305.Com.

D- Arterpillar previews Saturday's Art Fallout event in Fort Lauderdale.
The third annual such event will include exhibitions, open studios, performative picnic art, food trucks and drinks at simultaneously occurring events. Free shuttles, which are scheduled to pick up every 20 minutes at participating venues, will run from 5 to 9 p.m., but art lovers can remain long afterwards to check out some of the other art shows that will be up-and-running on Saturday.
E- A photography commentary from Swampstyle.

F- Five other charities you can give to besides Susan G. Komen for the Cure during Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Salty Eggs.
Unfortunately, the pink ribbon and special merchandising has been much abused in a phenomenon dubbed “pinkwashing,” a term coined by the San Francisco-based nonprofit Breast Cancer Action. As that group and many journalists have pointed out — like Amy Westervelt did here in Forbes — very often, little of the purchase cost of special-edition pink goods actually goes to breast cancer charities.
G- Transit Miami produces a tongue-in-cheek video that makes fun of the new Belle Meade fence that is supposed to secure the neighborhood.

H- Check out all the new construction projects going on in Miami-Dade County at Curbed Miami's new "Heatmap."
Here is a recap of much of that new construction, in handy-dandy map form, referencing Curbed Miami's coverage of each project thus far. If Curbed hasn't written about it yet, it's not on here. Introducing the first edition of the Curbed Miami Development Heatmap, after the jump.
I- Ode to Barry Commoner as composed by Obalesque.

J- Hey Dolphin fans, don't worry, be happy! At PhinPhanatic.
The Dolphins after four weeks of play have won 1 single game. Yet they have been a missed field goal away from winning two others and six minutes removed from winning their first game of the season. While the Dolphins didn’t beat the Jets, they haven’t lost the Rams, Titans, or Colts either. They have lost to two games to two of the three undefeated teams in the NFL.

And that is nothing feel down about!
