Hope you're enjoying your Friday nights, folks. Here's a solid Sift of the South Florida blogosphere...and a freshly updated Weekend Widget in the right sidebar as bonus. Enjoy.
A- Some great August Critical Mass videos and a slideshow at The Miami Bike Scene.
B- Transit Miami posts a letter slamming the Miami trolley and readers pile on in the comments section.
C- Man or Maniac? takes a look at the empty Romney presidential candidate.
D- Southern District of Florida Blog kicks around whether Scott Rothstein gave up his wife.
If that's true, then I have an even lower opinion (if that's possible) of Scott Rothstein than I did before. Ratting on your own wife?! Despicable.E- On Two Shores has the latest on David Rivera and makes a prediction that he'll be going to the Gray Bar Hotel soon.
F- Curbed Miami shares the 411 on a great new bookstore on the Upper East Side.
That someone else might be Biscayne Books, a groovy new community bookstore for the Upper East Side / MiMo historic district which just opened on Biscayne Boulevard and 67th Street, with a growing stock of new, used, and no doubt deliciously oddball titles.G- South Florida for Beginners is finding out how effed up South Florida home insurance is.
H- Arterpillar provides their picks of the DWNTWN Art Days litter.
Today's big event is the kickoff of DWNTWN Art Days, which promises two days of "exhibitions, art tours, open studios, arts conferences, film screenings and surprise interactions with public projects." Sounds like a lot of ground to cover so I've just picked out four things that sound particularly interesting to me. You can find more info on Dwntwnartdays.com, a site launched by organizers who apparently are opposed to the use of the letter 'o.'I- And interesting graph of Lake O's inflows and outflows is up at Go Hydrology!
J- Bark Bark Woof Woof trusts Charlie Crist...not at all.
I would rather have Teddy the Wonder Lizard in the governor's mansion in Tallahassee than Rick Scott, but if Charlie Crist is the best hope that the Florida Democrats can come up with, they have a serious problem.
