Your Evening Sift

South Florida bloggers were fired up today. Settle in for a lengthy evening Sift.

A- Miami Beach 411's Matt Meltzer somehow made lemonade out of the horrible lemons he was dealt when he was assigned to cover the Miami Dolphins Swimsuit Fashion Show at LIV.

B- Eater Miami has the names of the two restaurants recently named by Food & Wine magazine as having excellent outdoor dining.

C- Everything you need to vote in November is posted at Critical Miami.

D- Yes, MIA is going to be featured in a new reality series on The Travel Channel and Curbed Miami gives you the links.

E- Nicely done entry on the Freedom Tower at Sex and the Beach.

F- Coconut Grove Grapevine is now posting BOLO's.
Please FIVO this subject if you see him and keep an eye on him and reach out to me if you encounter him or arrest him.
G- Eye on Miami encourages its readers to pony up some political dollars. The comments are pretty entertaining, too.

H- On Two Shores explains the effects and the reasons behind the Castro regime's new import taxes.
Cubans living abroad can now bring in 66 pounds tax free, but after that they will pay $4.55 per pound. Just so you have an idea of how onerous that is, that $4.55 represents a monthly salary for many Cubans. To make things worse, there’s no access to ATMs in Cuba and credit cards issued by American banks aren’t accepted, so for many travelers the decision would be to surrender their luggage at customs or risk running out of money while in the island.
I- Salty Eggs shares their experiences at the Republican National Convention in an epic post.
With the exception of a few preachers and mixed-up activists, nobody talked about social issues unless I specifically asked. Abortion, religion, and gay marriage – the lightning rods that get people fired up and equal ratings on television – were not the first things on people’s lips.
