A Coupla Things From The Herald

I don't care what anyone else says, the Miami Herald is the only read in town when you want spot on political commentary and loony local news. Here's two examples...first, a Jim Morin cartoon...

And then there's this story which is classic South Florida...
Several bricks of soggy marijuana washed up on the shore of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Friday morning.

Witnesses saw a man, later identified as Reginaldo Azevedo, pick up one of the bricks near Commercial Boulevard and start walking quickly north on Ocean Boulevard.

A police officer who was nearby yelled at Azevedo to stop, but he took off running north on Ocean Boulevard. He went about five blocks before he threw the marijuana in the dunes and “started doing exercises,” according to the police report. [SFDB emphasis]

Azevedo was charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
Two lessons that Reginaldo should have learned from this incident.

One, "Finders, keepers" does not apply to bricks of illegal drugs.

Two, next time make sure you tell the cops that you were on the way to the police station to turn it in.

Sheesh.
