Your Evening Sift

Sheesh. I worked up a sweat posting today. It's been a while since I felt like posting so many times in one day. We've finally arrived at Friday Eve, readers. Enjoy your evening Sift.

A- Nice quote selection from Bark Bark Woof Woof today.

B- Beached Miami posts their Instapix Pic of the Week.

C- Boy Writes Miami tries geocaching.
Before I continue, try to picture this from the perspective of an outside viewer. One adult man and two young women late on a Sunday night parking in an empty lot and walking behind a cement wall to a dark area next to a canal. What the f*ck [Ed.] do you say if you get caught? “I was looking for treasure.” Yeah.
D- Chef Ralph Pagano is on the move, according to Eater Miami.
Leaving Gulfstream behind, former Hell's Kitchen contestant Ralph Pagano is headed to Solé on the Ocean, the Sunny Isles boutique hotel. Pagano will relaunch the hotel's seaside restaurant, Alba, in October with a focus on combining the food of France and Italy to create what Pagano calls "vacation cuisine."
E- Salty Eggs criticizes both sides in the Chick-fil-A kerfuffle.
And if you didn’t know about Chick-fil-A’s anti-gay tendencies until the company’s COO opened his mouth a couple of weeks ago, how can you possibly be so outraged now? It’s not like this is an issue you were really paying attention to. If you truly gave a damn, you’d have avoided eating at Chick-fil-A a long time ago.
F- Political Cortadito is optimistic that the absentee ballot investigation in Hialeah is going to produce big results while Eye on Miami has a mugshot and a portion of the arrest affidavit. From the former...
Ladra can hear the dominos falling, can’t you? And I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Cabrera, now that she is facing the felony of forgery, will likely implicate those candidates and/or campaign strategists who she had to have been working for because there is no way that woman does it — that is hard work, valuable work — out of the kindness of her Catholic heart.
G- Curbed Miami posts the plans for Brickell Green Space.
To the west of Brickell Avenue, an entire block of currently undeveloped riverfront property is proposed for the park. It's grassy, a bit overrun with weeds at the moment, and beautiful. Preserving it as a park will keep it that way, while adding lush greenery, athletic amenities, an addition to the Miami Riverwalk, and a broad promenade stretching through the middle of the park.
H- It must be getting close to the weekend because South Florida Theatre Scene's weekly wrap up is up.

I- A couple of the Green Parrot Bar's bouncers were viciously attacked and hospitalized over the weekend, reports their blog. They need some help.
As many of you may have heard, two of our bouncers--or 'dance instructors', as we like to call them--Tim "The Wookie" Grandy and Adam "Dude" Daytz were brutally attacked and beaten over the weekend by two men. Adam, who was kicked in the head, had a CAT scan and was released. But Tim is in serious condition in ICU at the Lower Keys Medical Center, battling a lung infection that struck after reconstructive ankle surgery. (His ankle was broken in the scuffle.)
J- South Florida Food and Wine tells us all about her experience at the Tropical Fruit Dinner hosted by 15000 and Paradise Farms.
For the seafood course DaSilva and team prepared a Seared Florida Wahoo served with compressed dragon fruit, a crispy rice rake, and mango puree. I sat at a table of eight and without speaking, each of us tried the items in this course separately then we started eating in combinations. The flavors and textures were reminiscent of a rollercoaster ride, not quite realizing when the exciting drop is coming so you just hold on and ride the ride.
