Introducing: On Two Shores

I'm excited about this.

Alex Barreras is my old writing partner at Stuck on the Palmetto so I'm happy to announce that he has started a new blog called On Two Shores. From the About section...
We aim at filling in the gap of a moderate voice for Cuban Americans and Cubans in the diaspora, to represent the silent majority who believes a change of policy vis-a-vis Cuba is needed and to counteract the influence of the hard line side. We act under the conviction, shared by many on both sides of the Florida Straits, that for Cuba to be free, first we have to be free from the status quo in our minds and actions.
Alex will be joined by a few contributors who "may or may not be identified by their names, at their choice," and will, no doubt, act as to counter the obstinate and militant mindset of some Cuban-American hardliners.

There are too many hard right Cuba blogs staffed by writers influenced more by ideology and a hysterical blind hatred for the Castro regime rather than a genuine and intellectual concern for the island, her people and their future.

We need more like On Two Shores.

Welcome back, Alex.

Thanks for the support partner! Eager to get back into blogging, and on the subject/approach that first got me in. May even resurrect some "Vamos a Cuba".
