Almost a week ago, I put out a call for a few SFDB Editors. Actually, I've been trying to find a couple additional Editors for a quite a while now and have made several announcements over the last 6 months or so. Thus far, I've been able to fill one of those spots...after asking. I've received no other offers or inquiries.
Folks, I started this blog back in February 2008 with the idea of creating a place where the South Florida blogosphere could stop by and see what was going on with our community of bloggers and, maybe, engage in some interesting or thought provoking conversation at the same time. Many bloggers have benefited from the traffic provided by the Sifts and I've done my best to accommodate requests whenever I get them.
I applaud the Editors who have stepped up and decided to give a little back to the blogging community. To all the others who continue to be happy with the traffic SFDB sends their way but don't care to give 15 minutes of their time to assist with the selection of the Post of the Month, I have to ask: Why?
Could it be a that you already have enough on your plates and don't care to take on anything else? That's fine, but I'd like to point out that the 15 minutes or so that it may take you for the Post of the Month is probably spent every single day, if not hour, on Twitter or some other form of social media.
Maybe my outspoken political views are causing you some problem? Again, I can appreciate that but I would question why it's okay to appear on the SFDB blogroll but not act as an Editor.
So, again, I'm asking all of you, particularly those of you who are among the Top 20 Most Mentioned blogs in the right sidebar, to dig deep and reconsider taking an Editor position.
Thanks.

I'll volunteer!
I'd be happy to act as a SFDB Editor.
Exasperation is the one thing blogging assures me. I seem to be engulfed in it more and more as time goes on.
