Good morning.

It's the last day of January and it's also voting day for Florida's Fox News audience. Here is your morning Sift.

A- Ipanemic expresses his love for the synthesizer.

The MicroKorg XL, shown in my pictures here, apart from being a superb synthesizer in terms of sound, is just a beautiful machine with fantastic retro styling. I had a long inner battle in deciding between this and the original MicroKorg which had a an even more retro wood frame finish (my Opus 3 had the same finish). Ultimately, I chose the XL for it’s USB connection. My little workstation is quickly becoming wires and cables. And blinking lights.

B- Why Wal-Mart is bad for Midtown...at Beached Miami.

It is a mistake to bring Walmart to the Midtown/Wynwood area, which has become the artistic center of the City of Miami. To expose this still fragile area to the life-sucking force that is a Walmart might irreparably damage the community. We need our local businesses to be able to thrive so that we can ensure that the full time workers in our community can earn decent wages that will keep them from being a burden on taxpayers.

C- Obalesque agrees with Rush that politics needs to be dirty.

Rushbo is right-o: we need to hear this over and over again, loud and clear. The proper response to negative campaigning is more negative campaigning. Tune it out at your own risk: they count on your inattention and forgiveness. Throw eggs and fart proudly at rallies. This is America, this is democracy. This is who we are.
