I know this is up a little late this evening and I still have to update the SFDB Weekend Widget in the right sidebar. Gotta run. Enjoy your Sift.
A- Eye on Miami gives us a briefing on a hearing in Miami Federal court today that concerned the EPA enforcement of the Clean Water Act.
Judge Gold finished off with the bottom line. He said it was a matter of good faith. It is easy to engage in litigation tactics but his patience with that is worn. Further he said, Friends of the Everglades is saying we have been to this dance before and it feels kind of old. He said we are all being tested here but he was committed to see the rules of the Clean Water Act implemented in this case.B- Rush Limbaugh gets upset with The Reid Report.
C- Blind Tastes once again astounds readers with his knowledge of bourbons.
While he is correct that White Dog is "virgin" bourbon, the commercial version is actually bottled at 125 proof, not 140 proof, and sold by the Buffalo Trace distillery. Other names for White Dog are White Lightning, or just White Whiskey. It is the clear distillate that gets poured into a new, charred, white oak barrel and aged to become the bourbon we know and love.D- Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour's decision to grant clemency or pardon nearly 200 people is food for discussion at Southern District of Florida Blog.

F- Miami Beach 411 ponders the latest wave of burger joints in South Florida with Burger Beast while obsessing over the sandwich's fat content.
To look around South Beach the past few years, you’d forget that our name was once attached to a trendy, effective healthy diet. Where South Beach was teeming with whole grains and sushi, smoothies and rabbit food, now it seems every new restaurant that opens is battling to see who can kill you faster.G- BGR-The Burger Joint may just be the best burger place in town, says The305.Com.
I really do think this is one of the best burger spots I’ve been to in Miami in a really long time. Plus, the customer service was great. The manager (and I think owner) of the Kendall location was extremely friendly to all the customers, including us. And he was passionate about his business, his BGR brand name, and all of its products.H- Eater Miami chats with Myles Chefetz about his job at Prime 112.

There is a debate going on over at the Facebook page of the Coconut Grove Drum Circle. Some dude named Danny, who seems to be a professional drummer, is putting down the Drum Circle drummers for being amateurish and not wanting to further their drum beating skills.K- Discourse finds more evidence of of the slow death of journalism.
He is not getting the whole purpose of the drum circle. It's not a place for the likes of Buddy Rich and Sheila E, even though perhaps they might enjoy it, but it's a place for community spirit and fun.
L- Miami-Dade Dems tells us how much of a conservative hack Senator Marco Rubio really is.
Barely a year in office and he already excels at taking orders from his big donors. The astroturf group called Americans for Prosperity, aka the political tool of the right-wing Koch brothers, ranks Marco Rubio with four other US senators at 100 percent and A+ for voting as commanded all the time.
