SFDB selects its Post of the Week by going back and reviewing all the Sifts that we've done over the previous week. We find the best post of the week and note the runners ups as we judge them to be.
Last week was a nice week of posting in the South Florida blogosphere. When I look at my selections, I feel like we had a good balance. See if you agree.
Runners-Up: Redland Rambles provided an informative post on Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead, one of those places all locals need to visit at least once. If you're considering a trip to Delray Beach anytime soon, make sure you use this fantastic blog entry by South Florida Food and Wine as a definitive reference. A new transportation service on Miami Beach called Swoop was profiled very nicely by Miami Beach 411.
Winner: Whenever a blogger can get exclusive coverage of an important news event, the resulting post is bound to be significant just by virtue of the fact that no one else was there. Such was the case when Carlos Miller, on the job for Miami Beach 411, was there when some Occupy Miami protesters were recently arrested at FIU. Carlos had his video camera, of course, and captured the whole thing on tape. FIU Police Arrest Occupy Activists For Attempting Concert also provided some important narrative on the chronology of events that led up to the arrests. Overall, just a great post that wound up furnishing info for many of the local mainstream media outlets. Kudos to Miami Beach 411 for this week's SFDB Post of the Week.
'Til next time, people, keep on blogging!

Thanks, Rick!
