"Absentee Ballot Fraud" [Part One, Part Two, Part Three]
Eye on Miami's excellent exposé on absentee ballot fraud in Miami-Dade County proved to be the favorite of SFDB Editors and blew away the competition.
Let's check out how the SFDB Editors voted...
Here is some of the commentary that the Editors filed after they voted.
Ipanemic:
"I found Jess's article at Miami Beach to be personally interesting as I watched this entire program develop on the beach. From the construction of the racks, to the placement of the bikes, to launch and even to watching a couple of stations being taken down. Now, the bikes are everywhere. Great article, well written, worth a read."
Mike LaMonica:
"Absentee Ballot Fraud for me. It was persistent with the follow-on posts and uncovered identity theft of the worst kind right in our backyard. Genius provided resources for people to take action and other commenters added more. While there was the heart string factor with the woman's disability, it would have worked for me if she were an able-bodied 25 year old gringa. That's where I netted out this month. BTW, were there five weeks in September???"
South Florida Lawyers:
"All worthy nominees, but Eye on Miami's laser focus on absentee vote fraud does the community a great service and reveals the dark underbelly of Miami's politics-as-usual"
You can view all the nominees here and check out all the past SFDB Posts of the Month at the bottom of the right sidebar.
Congrats to Eye on Miami on the win. If you're interested in what changes are being proposed as a result of the Eye on Miami post, check out their follow up here.

Thank you everyone. I am honored to be recognized by my peers...always wanted to say that.
Anyway, tomorrow I go to County Hall and Mrs. Thompson -- the woman who had her vote stolen -- is going as well. County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa put an ordinance on the agenda to include a penalty in the county code. That was my suggestion in Part 3 - Sosa said she saw the blog. 3 other commissioners have co-sponsored it. Let's hope my unpopularity with the County Commission doesn't hinder its passage. Thanks again.
