SFDB's Thoughts Too Big For Twitter

Who cares if a single Sarah Palin had a one-night stand with a single Glen Rice 24 years ago? Are we supposed to care because it's an interracial thing or is it supposed to be a big deal because Palin married her husband less than a year later, according to the report from the National Enquirer and repeated by supposedly upstanding members of the journalistic community.

Can someone tell me why this is such a huge story?

She'll lose half her support by being with a black man. Seriously, a lot of tea party folk are crazy racists.

I think it's a big deal because she's so judgmental and 'holier-than-thou.' She's a hypocrite and a liar.

she also went out with Weiner

Okay, can't say I disagree...but I still ask, what is it with this conduct that happened 24 years ago that is so wrong, so contrary to the person that she says she is today, to warrant the attention it's getting?

Do you think that she doesn't approve of 2 consenting adults having a one nighter?

Again, I'm just wondering.

It's not a huge story. It's footnote.

But it's out there and a little hard to ignore.

A month from now no one will remember this.

By the way, the fact that Palin had sex with Rice is not "according to the National Enquirer."

The Enquirer is merely reporting something that's in a book that they obtained in advance of its release.

Not falling for your disingenuous "musings" Rick.

Why aren't your ridiculing the news outlets who publish this stuff about Palin like you progressives ridiculed Trump for asking where the f Obama's college transcripts are? Oh you guys had great fun with him about that, going so far as to call him a racist.

So then where's the outrage at being fed ridiculous and irrelevant minutia about Palin's privates and Bachmann's headaches?

For the morons here who say Palin's premarital activities are fair game, if that's the case then I'll pick up Trump's ball: Where are Obama's college grades? Don't they reflect on his purported intelligence and work ethic? Surely they are far more relevant than who Palin has been intimate with?

JM: Seriously, WTF is wrong with you? I don't think it's a big deal and I don't think the "supposedly upstanding members of the journalistic community" have any business covering it.

What is so difficult about that?

@ Jewish Marksman: I think I love you! ;)

Disingenuous about sums this guy up. Phony is another adjective that comes to mind.

Rick,
I'm not buying what you're selling. You posted it on your blog to give it wider exposure. You actually linked to it.

"Can someone tell me why this is such a huge story?"

You love the scandal and explicitly hope a reader can give you a half-baked reason to justify it.

When really, the only reason its a story outside of the National Enquirer is because you moveon.org drones are pimping it.

Jewish Marksman said...

BTW Rick, your oracle moveon.org just published Perry's grades:

http://front.moveon.org/guess-what-grade-rick-perry-got-in-animal-breeding/

So where's Obama's? You guys are all up in Palin's vajayjay, but don't bother to ask for Obama's grades?

Rick said...

Whatever, JM. You love your conspiracy theories so it doesn't surprise me.

Birth certificate. Rubio.

Discuss.

If I don't say anything, I'm ignoring them. If I say something, I'm pretending.

With fuzzy brains like you, JM, there is no satisfying you.

What conspiracy theory? Where's the grades? Nobody is saying he didn't go to Occidental or Columbia. What's wrong with wanting to know if he did well or not? Certainly your oracle moveon.org feels that's a relevant issue with respect to Rick Perry, so why not Obama?

"Whatever" indeed.

Rick it is very easy for you to prove you are truly meaning to take the high road with respect to the media treatment of conservatives:

Simply demand that moveon.org publish Obama's grades just like they published Perry's.

Otherwise, I will continue to view your post as a veiled effort to propagate the Palin "scandal" because your position on the story is inconsistent with your blogging effort to smear conservatives without mercy.

*pinching myself*

Is this a dream or is some commenter named Jewish Marksman commanding me to demand the release Obama's grades so that he'll leave me alone?

The world is truly full of bizarre people.

Next thing you know someone is going to threaten me because I don't link to their blog enough or something.

Right. Oooh, he'll continue viewing your post in some negative light. I'm sure you won't be able to sleep tonight.

As for the story: two random celebrities had a tryst, that's interesting to our celebrity-addled culture. Oh, and the aforementioned Palin holier than thou attitude.

It's always funny to see the Palin defenders jumping at her defense pretending she's not some attention whore stretching her 15 minutes but a respectable political figure. (Invoking Trump no less, another attention whore.) Case in point, the hilarious Armando Salguero freakout and the controversy in the Herald newsroom.

@Bill, you love him now, but wait until the morning.

Alex said...

BTW Jewish Marksman, you are kind of behind on your Obama conspiracy theories. The latest one is that neither he nor Michelle have law licenses and there's something fishy about it. You're welcome!

Jewish Marksman said...

Alex,
A "conspiracy theory" has been defined as "A belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for an unexplained event."

That does not apply to my criticism of moveon.org (Rick's oracle) because moveon.org has not acted covertly, but rather, in the light of day. Nor is the event unexplained.

Moveon.org published Perry's grades (and reamed him for them), but did not publish Obama's nor even ask for them.

Rick snipes at conservatives for sneezing wrong, day in and out relentlessly. Yet, this time, he would have us believe he was posting an intellectual musing, with no intent to further propagate the Palin schmear. As he put it, "Whatever."

Calling BS on some random blogger hardly qualifies as a "conspiracy theory."

But hey, I know you have to protect your boy. Believe him if you want. I say, "Whatever."

Why is this such a huge story?

It's Glen effing Rice, dude.

Alex said...

For a so called marksman, you keep moving the target. If you are so genuinely worried about Obama's grades, I trust you already asked Hot Air or better yet Fox News to find and publish them. Otherwise, by your own standard, you just want to propagate the Obama smear.
