Good morning.
I have some good posts planned for your TGIF SFDB experience so make sure you check back throughout the day. Let's get rolling with your morning Sift.
A- Ipanemic features photos of named buildings in South Florida.
Over the coming weeks, I will be presenting Namespaces collections: media (photography primarily) themed around named buildings.B- Miami Beach 411 learns to adjust.
A funny thing happens when an American transplant makes it past the two year mark in Miami. The mark that determines whether you’re going to be a long-term tourist or a legitimate resident. You start to take the Spanish as just another part of daily life. Yeah it may suck constantly being an outsider and rarely meeting anyone with your common background. But being the only white person in the room becomes the norm.C- Over a dozen new photos are up at The Street.
D- Eye on Miami has the moving story of John the Handyman who has fallen on hard times.
If you are one of the people who is apt to call welfare recipients moochers I hope you will be reminded of this story of a man who really tries, who begs for more work, who takes 3 buses for a 5 hour a day job for which he takes home about $60 a day, or less than $15,000 a year. There is no pension or health insurance for him but plenty of medical expense because no one ever bothered to teach him what to eat.E- The Reid Report details how a prominent Republican is doing what Republicans do best...lie.
