A- Let's begin this evening with some expectations that Blogging Black Miami has of Carlos Gimenez, the new Miami-Dade Mayor, .
Gimenez's no-nonsense management style is what the community needs but will be somewhat painful to endure. To plug the $300-400 million budget shortfall will mean jobs will be affected. The formula is rather clear and options limited. Gimenez has to deal with the employee unions and the negotiations will not be pretty.B- Swampstyle shares a collection of thoughts about July 4th.
C- Beached Miami recaps the first Sketchy Miami Party.
This is exactly what Sketchy Miami is about, facilitating exchange between Miami artists and other locals to bring the two groups closer together and to make Miami a funkier place in the process. Fewer than two months into the project, we certainly haven’t realized this goal, and, in fact, Sketchy Miami’s stated mission is unattainable.
