SFDB Post Of The Week
SFDB selects its Post of the Week by going back and reviewing all the Sifts that we've done over the past 7 days. We find the best post of the week and note the runners ups as we judge them to be.
There was a nice variety of posts to choose from this week and the competition was pretty tough. But when it came time to select the winner, it was pretty easy, not necessarily for the post's content but rather for its impact.
Runners-Up: Beached Miami delivered yet another entertaining video for us this week, this one from the Sketchy Party that they hosted at Lester's. Phin Phantic's excellent post on Baltimore Colts legendary tight end John Mackey called Death of a Legend, was a nice mix of fact and personal recollection. The pineapple and its history in South Florida got a lot of attention from Redland Rambles, who continues to impress with their well-constructed and informative posts.
Winner: Sometimes the impact that a post has on the blogosphere can be more important than how eloquent it sounds or how well it's constructed. Miami Beach 411's Jimmy’z Beats Sugarcane On Social Media Day was posted at 4:30 on a Wednesday morning and took a little while to get rolling but once readers had a chance to digest the post's content and get into the growing comment section, it was evident that it was going to be a controversial and thought-provoking post. The topic of social media parties and what they should expect from businesses was sliced, diced and hashed out at MB411 and here at SFDB after I realized the post needed a little more airing out. The comment threads were long and the South Florida blogging community really got into the discussion, with the pot being stirred by a mystery commenter that, I thought, made some rather salient points. It was, indeed, the most talked about post of last week and therefore it gets my Post of the Week recognition.
'Til next time, keep on blogging!
