Your Morning Sift

Good morning.

It's a special day for many SFDB readers out there, but we'll get to that in a minute. For the moment, enjoy your Sunday morning Sift.

A- Happy Father's Day sentiments from Bark Bark Woof Woof, Go Hydrology!, and Beached Miami.

B- Man or Maniac? is upset that WSVN apparently screwed up their coverage of yesterday's photography protest in Lauderdale.
WSVN-7 News covered the little protest we had the other day. And while it's great that they came out, it would have been more impressive if they got the story right.
C- Random Pixels reviews the Miami-Dade mayoral candidates positions on the new Marlins stadium development.

D- The Reid Report posts the latest in racially-tinged rhetoric that the Republican Party can't seem to avoid when discussing Barack Obama.
There’s certainly a debate to be had about how far is too far, in terms of taste, to push jokes about the president’s race, Mitt Romney’s religion, or Barney Frank’s backside. In the realm of stand up comedy, none of the jokes at the convention would be particularly noteworthy. But in a supposedly serious political setting, particularly one in which the people listening to the jokes are members of a political party that has “issues” when it comes to racial, ethnic and sexual minorities, well let’s just say it’s not a good look.
E- Justice Building Blog considers the loss of Clarence Clemmons last night.
Never again are we going to sit in a stadium enthralled as the Big Man belts out the sax solo on BTR or Rosalita or Jungleland... but thanks Clarence for a lifetime of memories.
