You've all waited patiently so here it is, your rather lengthy Hump Day evening Sift. Have a good night, readers!
A- Let's get rolling this evening with an interesting and affordable condo project in South Beach that Miamism has found and shares with us.
Brand New Miami Beach condo project in the smack center of South Beach. they are actually townhomes because they are 3 stories with the third story being an incredible sky loft that opens to 2 roof terraces with awesome views of South Beach. The project is located just South of Flamingo Park on Jefferson and it’s literally walking distance to the beach, to Alton Road and everything in South Beach.B- Beached Miami is selling tee shirts.
We have designed a shirt to let you bare your inner beast and confirm for your parents that they have indeed created a monster. Originally designed for the Critical Mass Halloween ride and later featured in Barry Jenkin’s short film Chlorophyl, the Wolfcyclist tee comes in six colors: white, charcoal, red, hot pink, pink, and grey.C- FTL Collective shares their photos from Ryan Humphrey’s Fast Forward in Hollywood this past weekend.
D- Both Burger Beast and The Chowfather note a couple South Florida burger deals for the summer.
E- Miami Beach 411 explains how the Books and Books on Lincoln Road is a great place to eat and hang out...but then, we already knew that, didn't we?
Locally owned, the book store has been in business for 24 years and has a loyal following of locals and tourists. People come to browse the well stocked store for anything from a newly released hardcover to the latest gossip magazines imported from England, which you can flick through while sitting on a comfy sofa in their shady terrace. They host monthly author events and book signings, and have an ordering service for that elusive book that they may not have in store, but you must read.F- Worst Pizza posts a few photos of last night's pizza tweetup in Fort Lauderdale.
Although it was quite hot in the place due to so many pizza lovers, the owner and staff of Pizza D’Angelo in Fort Lauderdale served up enough pizza to fill the bellies of over 65 attendees, and needless to say the pizza was great!G- Jeff Eats loves him some CG Burgers.
The best way for “me” to explain CG Burgers…Five Guys Burgers meets You Name It Sports Bar with a dose of “whatever” medicine Barry Bonds used- to hit all of those homeruns- thrown into the mix.H- Transit Miami responds to recent mayoral candidate Gabrielle Redfern's response to a recent Transit Miami post. I'm getting dizzy.
I absolutely loved the Coral Springs joint. Just so you know, CG Burgers (order at counter/food is delivered to your table) does burgers, fries, sandwiches, roasted wings, milk shakes and has a salad bar. Of note, the Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter and Miami stores also have coal-oven pizza…not sure why Coral Springs doesn’t do pizza, but it doesn’t.
Transportation is one of the biggest challenges facing our community – and there is still no meaningful discussion about how to move us forward to more balanced – and economically sustainable – transportation network. The idea that this election is somehow different or a ‘linchpin’ in some predestined path to greatness is silly.I- Go Hydrology! tells us how that wet season is going in the swamp.
For me the wet season means knee deep water in the domes …J- The po po has been ordered to stop harassing photographers in Fort Lauderdale, according to Carlos Miller.
And flowing water at the bridges.
K- Bark Bark Woof Woof gives most of us something to laugh about with a Colbert Report clip that explains the perfect generic Republican presidential candidate.
L- Photos of Friday night's Big Night in Little Haiti are up at Soul of Miami.
