Your Evening Sift

Some afternoon rains provided some welcomed relief from the blazing sun this afternoon up here in Broward but I still was hesitant to do anything outside. Welcome to South Florida's summer. Don't forget your deodorant. Or your evening Sift.

A- Random Pixels gets harsh with Carlos Miller.
But, here's a suggestion Carlos.

Next time a movie shoot comes to town, why not shoot some pictures of some actual movie stars? Ignore the jerks who are trying to keep you from getting pictures and work around them.

I've been hassled once or twice over the years, but it's never stopped me from getting pictures. Pictures that sold.

Below are just a few pictures that I've shot on movie sets. I ran into obstacles trying get a lot of the pictures, but I always came away with the shot.

Of course, if all this sounds too difficult, you can always stick to photographing MetroRail security guards and fish mongers.
B- AshAndBurn headed down to Key Largo this weekend and took his camera with him.

C- South Florida Food and Wine shines her spotlight on Jeffrey Wolfe, owner of Wolfe's Wine Shoppe.
Aside from giving a great interview Wolfe's Wine Shoppe sells some of the most fantastic wines on the planet. Jeffrey has one of the best entrepreneurial spirits and approach to business that I've seen. He loves what he does and it comes through loud and clear.

My next two weeks are going to be extremely busy and stressful, so I hung out around the house this weekend napping, watching movies, surfing the Internet and capturing photographs in the back yard.
E- Hialeah, led by Julio Robaina, leads the entire state in unemployment, reports Eye on Miami.

It's unfortunate that Bill Cooke continues to allow his personal feud with Carlos Miller to color his perceptions. I went to the protest on Friday to support the notion that the First Amendment should not be trampled by a film company - who by the way is in Florida because they are collecting millions in tax credits and exemptions from Florida taxpayers.

In no way can, or should this protest be viewed in a context of who's tougher, or resourceful enough to make a couple photos of actors.

This was clearly, and solely an issue dealing with the abuse of the 1st Amendment. No photographer should belittle this by making it appear to be anything less.
