Glenn Beck is on the hunt for progressives...
...and he wants to irradiate and "correct" them...
While Glenn and his pinheaded disciples would probably have a hard time mustering up the courage to initiate such a thing, what they are basically saying is that they want to hunt down 50% of the American population and "correct" them so that democracy can flourish in the United States of America.
I'm not sure how far down I am on Glenn Beck's hunting list, but he better have his calendar clear when he comes knocking on my front door, if you know what I mean.

Beware of men carrying clipboards.
The beauty of irradiation is that it can be done from far away. Spares everyone the awkward conversation.
You have been warned, Rick.
I have no problems with correction of the facts, but the use of language such as disease, cancer, and poison to describe a particular social movement, or ideology runs contrary to correction of facts.
Beck's form of "correction" therefore is not about sharing and debating over facts (like democracies should do), but instead about having to "burn this out" before impeding death arrives.
These is the language of extremism.
Also, the documentary that Beck refers to includes Humberto Fontova, a man who looks up to people like Augusto Pinochet and Luis Posada Carriles, and writes pure propaganda for websites like the Babalu blog.
It does seem a bit radical, doesn't it? Perhaps he'd negotiate a kind of cap-and-trade arrangement instead.
Glenn Beck will go down in history as this generation's Father Coughlin.
Father Who?
Exactly.
(See here if you don't know who Father Coughlin was. How quickly we forget. With good reason.)
