Your Morning Sift

Good morning.

The bad news is SFDB's blogrolls may be having some problems this morning. The good news is the Weekend Widget has migrated to the top of the right sidebar and has a lot of information on events going on around South Florida. Here's your Day Before Friday morning Sift...

A- A Mom, a Blog and the Life In-Between is amazed by her child's mind.
Case in point: the way he connects Target to pretty much every part of his life. I mean, I can't tell him we have an errand to run without him asking, "Are we going to Target?" When he loses a toy or small item and you ask him where it is, he always replies, "at Target." Recently, I was explaining to him that he had to go to school, because that's what he does. Mommy goes to work, and he goes to school. And he countered with, "No, I go to work, too." When I asked where he worked, he replied, "Target."
B- Southern District of Florida Blog says there is only one good thing about summer in South Florida. [Watch that blog formatting, DOM.]

C- Eye on Miami has a unique way of rewarding county commissioners when they do something good.

D
- Cuban Home Cooking shows us how to make Rabo Encendido.
This is commonly called “Rabo Encendido” which roughly translates to “Tail on Fire”. I have always heard that it is called “Encendido” because it’s supposed to contain hot sauce. Now, traditional Cuban cooking doesn’t really use hot sauce as a staple – yes, there are exceptions, but for the most part our food is spicy from spices, but not “hot” in the Mexican sense. Therefore, this recipe does not contain hot sauce, but it can be added to taste if you like.

Hi...

This isn't specifically related to any of the Blogs listed in The Morning Sift - but when I click on "Babalu" from your Blog roll (just to watch their heads explode about the OAS thing) it takes me to the "George W. Bush Presidential Center" home page.

Did you do that on purpose? Because if you did - it's brilliant! I laughed out loud.

Actually, Hilda, the braintrusts at babalu did it. I guess it's their little way of continuing to support President Bush or something.

But since you enjoyed it, I'll be happy to take credit for it!

:)

I know, I know -- the formatting does that to me every now and then. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

DOM,

I think you need to resize that photo.
