SFDB Post Of The Week

SFDB selects its Post of the Week by going back and reviewing all the Sifts that we've done over the past 7 days. We find the best post of the week and note the runners ups as we judge them to be.

I always know it's a good week in the South Florida blogosphere when I have to omit two or three good posts from the PotW. When you're cutting that kind of quality, it's a good sign. Such was this week, the last one in May.

Winner: As some of you know, my favorite kind of blog post is a good story. Bark Bark Woof Woof is usually too preoccupied with the politics of the day to give us much more than that but this Memorial Day he took the time to take us back to the simpler times of his childhood and growing up in Ohio and related a wonderfully written tale of experiencing Memorial Day in a small town in America's Midwest. It's much more than that, of course, and that's what makes this post so worthy of this week's SFDB Post of the Week.

Runners-Up: A timely, well-photographed post Covering Miami's first Pizza Crawl that will make your taste buds quiver was good enough for a runner-up position this week for Miami Dish. Anyone who is thinking of heading to Michael's Genuine Food & Drink or who wants to get a better idea of what the restaurant is about needs to read and bookmark this quintessential review of that establishment that was done this week by Food For Thought. And, finally, Carlos Miller, writing for Miami Beach 411, did a nice job of documenting the flavor of Urban Beach Weekend and some of the problems that tend to come with it.

'Til next time, people, keep on blogging!
