Yesterday, Starbucks announced that they're going to close another 300 stores. Let's help them out a little and tell them which ones in South Florida should stay and which ones should go.For starters, I maintain that the one on Pines Boulevard just west of the police station in Pembroke Pines has to stay. It's clean, it's never crowded, the employees are super nice, it has a drive-thru and it's close to my house. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing the one on Lincoln Road at Pennsylvania close. The bathroom is filthy and there are already enough cafes on Lincoln to choke a horse.
What say you?
[And please don't turn this into a "best coffee" or Starbucks bashing thread. Just tell us which stores you think are good and which ones stink.]

Keep the one on SW 168th Street and Old Cutler Road in Palmetto Bay. It's nice, the baristas are very friendly (not that any others aren't), and if you get there early enough they still have copies of the New York Times on sale.
It's also five blocks from my house.
Excuse me Rick, but your normally razor sharp logic has lost its edge.
You don't actually expect Starbucks to keep the Starbucks on Pines Blvd open when, by your own admission, it's never crowded and close down the Lincoln Rd store which probably sees more customers in a day than the Pines Blvd store sees in a week!
For the record...I don't go to any of the Lincoln Rd stores because I don't like the vibe. My Starbux of choice is at West Ave and 10th Street.
Don't get me wrong, Bill, the one on Pines does a nice constant business. But it's big. Lots of places to lounge and relax and work so that there is always some place available. But yeah, there is going to be some changes up here because in a 2-mile stretch of Pines from Douglas to the Mall, there's 3 Starbucks.
The Town Center in Boca Raton has two of them, what a waste, one has to go!!
I like the Starbucks at Alton and 15th.
Loathe the one at Lincoln and Meridian. That one should be closed; they're utterly incompetent.
And am pissed at the one at Lincoln & Penn, because it used to be a Hear Music, and is now just a crappy Starbucks again. WTF?! I LIKED sometimes burning CDs there.
::grumble::
I say close the ones that are inside Target stores. They are tiny and never anything that I want when I want it.
The big one on 49th St in Hialeah (NW 103rd St) should definitely stay!
However, the tiny one next to Verizon Wireless on 16th Ave and 49th St should go. I didn't even notice it was there until the other day, and it seems no one else has either.
@ abel
so that one finally opened? i had heard rumors but never passed by.
also, hows the one in hialeah gardens doing? close that or let it stay?
there's two of them at FIU's University Park campus. I don't know the details of the U's deal with Starbucks - but one of the Starbucks actually used to be a different coffee shop called Java City (???). One of those Starbucks should close. Let's allow healthy competition.
Close them all for all I care... but bring back the Java Chip ice cream!
anon 1:34 - check out the cafe bustelo in graham center. cheaper and different!
the one in florida city, right off US1. worst service and most idiotic employees EVER
I hope they don't close the one in my hood, South Miami. It has a nice terrace on the second floor. Great place to relax off the beaten path of Sunset Place.
@Joel: I've been to the one in H. Gardens a few times and it's had pretty good business every time I've gone. Being the only one in the area probably secures it a good number of regular customers.
I've often been amazed at how many there are in South Beach. Keep three: one on the west side (Alton), one on the east (Washington), and one on Lincoln.
close the small ones and any or all little kiosks.
Definitely keep open the one on Old Cutler in the Old Cutler Shopping Center.
Now someone compile this list and send it to Seattle...
Miami Springs (on the circle) is big and beautiful
