Hello And Goodbyes

I counted 27 new South Florida blogs on my "watch list" this morning. What I usually do after finding a new blog is place it in a "pending" folder that I maintain in my Google Reader and I watch it for a couple weeks. If it turns out to be a blog that I think will add something to the SFDB blogroll, I'll introduce it to readers as I'm about to do here.

The Burger Beast

I'm excited about The Burger Beast. As you can probably tell by its name, BB is a food blog that focuses heavily on burgers. But it's much more than that. This Blogger blog also concentrates on what I'll call "everyman food." Stuff that we all eat at sometime or another that isn't at the top of your gastronomic wish list. Chili's, Hooters, Applebee's...c'mon, admit that you wanna know what other people think of that chicken breast sandwich that you thought was out of this world. They'll even just post an open thread for commenters to suggest a place they thought was good.

BB is a group blog [seven bloggers post], meaning that you'll get varied perspectives on the different places they visit around South Florida.

There's a few things that are unusual about The Burger Beast: They don't have an archives, they don't have search capability, and they don't date their entries. But they do post frequently, which is always a good thing.

You can find The Burger Beast in the South Florida Foodies blogroll.

As frequent readers know, we also clean house regularly here at SFDB. If you don't post enough, you don't stay. There's too many blogs out there to keep the dormant ones listed. So today, SFDB says goodbye to three blogs:

Critical Miami: Last post September 1st.
Miami Baby Mama: Last post November 29th.
Ybor City Stogie: Last post December 2nd.

We'll keep monitoring these blogs in our reader and if they become active again, they'll return to the blogroll.

Hope you enjoy the adjustments.
