Now they're trying to back out of debates, whining about vulgar language, complaining about being called unpatriotic, and basically acting like wimps. It's disappointing to me personally because I used to love to make fun of these Barney Rubble-types who seemed to act more like participants at a World Wrestling Entertainment function than serious thinkers. But alas, things have changed.
Take for instance an exchange that I recently had with babalu's resident Ding Dong eater, George Moneo. Yesterday morning he voiced his outrage over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's use of the word "unpatriotic" to describe Republican's efforts to politicize the bailout plan. I proceeded to point out to George that Republicans have been calling Democrats traitors, Communists and painting them as unpatriotic scumbags for the past 8 years and reminded him that he had done the same thing earlier this month. Cowboy up, I urged George. Here, see for yourself.

That was all apparently too overwhelming for Moneo so he deleted my comments and decided not to deal with it. I know, I know it's not so surprising coming from the folks at babalu who are renown for not wanting to stand up to people with ideas different from theirs, but it's disappointing nonetheless. I mean, these are Republican extremists. They are supposed to be loud, crude, nationalistic, and hate-filled...but all we have now are pansies.
I don't know about you but I already pine for the old days when men were men and torture was just another way to express your patriotism.
......
My IP has officially been placed on babalu's "screened commenter" list, which means my comments have to be "approved" before they are posted. How many do you think will make it through that filter, folks?
You know, it wouldn't be a big deal if I had threatened them or cursed at them or posted using a pseudonym. But all I did was disagree with them. It's amazing that they are so scared of people just not seeing things the way they do. Everyone has to be in lockstep or they're silenced.
They do the same thing 90 miles from Key West. It's so friggin' ironic. They are no better than the man they hate so much.

my favorite part is how he calls deleting your comments "the power of free speech".
I'm sick to death of Republicans posturing as the party of "freedom" "patriotism" and "small government" and then turn around and telling women how to use their bodies and telling gay people they cannot get married.
that, can only be described as BS
It was always bullshit and bluster on their part. The 'Pubs are historically the party of privilege, and their posturing as Great Big Rough Hairy Chested Patriotic Real Men always rang hollow. They were the ones driving through the neighborhood with their windows up and doors locked tut-tutting over the conditions "these people" chose to live in instead of pulling themselves up by their bootstraps while we were out on the streets doing community organizing -- which today, citing Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers, they like to call "communism."
It would be a lot more laughable had not so much pain and harm resulted.
I disagree. They have not changed at all. They have always been loud, crude, nationalistic, hate-filled pansies. Especially Poodle Moneo. When have you seen any of them fight for their arguments? Their M.O is name-calling, isolation, strength in numbers, cyberbullying, bans... anything to avoid confrontation. You'll think they believe enough in their convictions to debate and defend them.
Rick,
Can't you understand the Republicans got their feelings hurt.
Uh...yeah.
