In The Pit Of My Stomach

Gustav is a Cat 4.

From the 2 PM discussion...
Gustav could intensify some more during the next few hours over water...and one cannot rule out category five intensity before crossing Cuba.

And, once again, NOLA and its residents are staring down the barrel of a very large gun. But this time they're getting out. Early.

You read this stuff and you see the track and you can't help but think "Katrina, all over again." After everything New Orleans has been through since 2005 and all the sweat and tears and work that has been invested in getting it up and running again, it makes me sick to my stomach to imagine that it might happen again.

But what can anyone do but watch and wait and hope and pray that Mother Nature takes pity on this beat up city.

I cant believe New Orleans is gonna get annihilated again. At least this time they know how serious a cat 3 is, let alone a cat 4 or 5. Imagine trying to get homeowners insurance in New Orleans or Mississippi now?

The National Guard, the DoD and FEMA did a great job teaming up this time around and getting folks out. Got some great photos & links over at the eMailOurMilitary.com blog Honor, Duty, eMail: http://emailourmilitary.blogspot.com/
