Good morning.
Here's some of what was posted last night while you caught up with your beauty sleep.
A- The South Florida Fan Blog gives us their take on the Manny Ramirez trade rumors.
My thoughts? DO IT! The price is steep, certainly, but Manny is a sure thing. This is a franchise desperately in need of a publicity stunt. The Marlins are deep enough in pitching prospects that they can afford to make the sacrifice.
One thing I have to say: No matter what criticism people levy on the Marlins, they have always shown a propensity to make bold moves. While the rest of the league plays cowards, the Marlins go for it. The Marlins may be cheap, but they have guts. And guts won them two titles already.
B- Tilefortlauderdale leaves Courtney at a Shell station on Federal Highway.
C- Speaking of Tilefortlauderdale, Incertus demonstrates that blogger's worlds sometimes intersect.
D- If you think you've had some bad luck flying lately, you really need to check this post by Discourse.
So we’re back in Miami. Cabin crew tell us that anyone who wishes to leave the plane here may do so, but if we leave we may not be allowed back on. The captain explains that the offending part is easy to replace, it’s just like a circuit board - you snap it in, test it, and then he’s fully confident in flying the plane. One Swedish couple leaves, saying they don’t trust the plane any more. There’s a trickle of departures. One person returns with coffee from Starbucks, and now we all want off.

A - SFFB hasnt realized that this trade makes little to no sense for the Marlins. They get a guy on his way out who just wants to get paid and be left alone. Thats why he wants out of Boston, because the media up there sucks. The Marlins are basically the AAAA team for the rest of the league (much like Pittsburgh). They have young guys who overachieve and then get bigger contracts to play for teams that have fans that actually give a crap about baseball and show up to the games. Manny doesnt fit the AAAA model. Sure, the Sox pay his salary this year but what happens when its resigning time? Im 95% sure this trade doesnt happen. Im also 95% sure Manny stays w/ the Sox and they eventually lose him to free agency. I still like Manny. He is one of my favorite players and one of the best hitters to play the game. Miami would be perfect for him because he could play ball where no one cares and he could speak spanish all day. I just dont see it happening.
D - Wow... That is certainly a tale of traveling woes. FYI Discourse - you should send an email to Delta and express your displeasure in a reasonable way. I did that and they sent me $100 voucher. Not too great but not bad either considering most airlines would just delete your email (or in Spirit's case, the CEO would "reply to all" and insult you)
