An old blog returns to the SFDB's blogroll as Vivir El Presente picks up its blogging and puts up a nice post today. Welcome back, Vivir.
And so...your evening Sift...
A- As just mentioned, Vivir El Presente explains why summer is her favorite season in South Florida.
Summer means less traffic and fewer tourists.
Summer is the smell of night jasmine as you come home at night, a sweet welcome from Mother Nature.
Summer is taking three showers a day (quick showers! Conserve water) simply because you unloaded groceries and walked into the building.
Summer is Sundays at the beach with a cooler and boogie boards, for hours and hours.
Summer is afternoon showers and morning heat.
B- Dente Press talks rum.
C-Blast Off! notes that cities are already naming things after George W. Bush to preserve his legacy as President.
D- Tilefortlauderdale leaves Deb in the ladies room at Barnes & Nobles on Federal Highway.

Thanks, Rick! You made a tough day end with a smile.
C - This is a funny coincidence. I was taking a dump the other day and it was one of those ones where it was a huge log that got stuck on the way out so I sat there pushing like I was giving birth and praying that it would end soon. Slowly this spike inched its way towards the water, eventually leaving a nice brown skid on the bowl. It took 2 flushes for the toilet to swallow this payload. Then there was the smell - pure evil. It was really painful and by the time I was done my abs were ripped. It all ended with a very satisfying wipe and a flush. I named this dump "The Dubya" because it reminded me of the 8 painful years (2 terms = 2 flushes) we have been pushing for good riddance of George W. Bush, who has left our nation with nothing but a skid mark.
