SFDB April Post of the Month: The Winner

The South Florida blogosphere is blessed with a lot of good writers and a few good storytellers. Sometimes the two converge and produce a wonderful essay that makes readers sit back and think, "Wow." Such was my reaction to Hidden City's Directions. Maybe it caught me at just the right time or perhaps it really is just that good, but whatever the case may be, I'm glad that SFDB readers felt the same way about it.

When the poll was shut down at 10 PM last night, Directions had collected 37% of the vote, or 23 votes, just barely edging out A Mom, a Blog and the Life In-Between's wonderfully titled and heartfelt post about her son called Spiderman and Pirates, Now and Forever, by a mere 2 votes. And thus, Hidden City is the recipient of SFDB's April Post of the Month award. Congratulations, mkh!

April was a great month for SoFla blogging and I want to thank the all the nominees for their great contributions. I also want to thank all the folks who took the time out to vote for their favorite post. The PoTM is dependent on reader participation so it's definitely something I want to recognize.

Just a reminder that you can review all the past Post of the Months and the current Post of the Week at the bottom of the right sidebar.

What will May produce in the South Florida blogosphere? Who knows, but you can count on SFDB to continue to bring to your attention what we feel to be the good, the bad and the controversial...so stay tuned.

Congratulations to Hidden City! I'm glad to hear that Tere gave them a run for their money; those were both wonderful, heartfelt pieces.

Kudos to all the nominees: it was an honor to be included with you.
