Another Day In The Neighborhood

So I'm sitting here working at the computer at, oh, say 6:30 AM this morning, when a huge explosion goes off somewhere in the neighborhood behind my house. I live on a lake so by the time I get to the window, there's smoke drifting across the water but absolutely no indication of where the source is.

And then I see this guy quietly crouched outside of my patio, with his friend, watching the houses that line the lake.

I get it. A neighbor is getting raided. Oh, joy.

Back to blogging.

Getting raided? For what? Come on, you gotta do a little investigating and find out what was going on!!

Odd. Was that guy on your property? Seems like they should let you know if men with guns are going to be running around your yard.

Could be a gator issue

Where are the details, Rick!?! And why weren't you out there snapping photos like mad!?

Admit it, Rick, you were terrified just taking that picture!

allen: on the way out of the development this morning there were about 3 police cars outside the house that was raided. No idea what they were there for.

cb: Personally, I don't have a problem going wherever they need to on my property to do their job. But that's just me.

Scott: one word: bedhead [or is that two?] :)

Carlos: not really. Although I'm not out in the middle of a street.

When I was a kid back in the Roaring 80s, cops raided the house across the street from me.

I ran out the door to get a better view of what was going on.

"Get the fuck back in the house!" one of the cops yelled.

So I did.

But I kept a careful eye out the window as they dragged my neighbors onto the lawn and had them all lay face down.

Then they starting lugging out loads of kilos, piling them up in the front drive way under heavy lights that they brought.

They were there all night. It came out in the newspapers. They turned out to be Colombian, but I never knew that because they had only moved in two months earlier.
