Good Morning and Happy Friday! Here's a few posts to get you started today...
A- In another one of their homemade videos, Miamism shows us Miami as seen from the Miami River.
B- SFLTV feels WSVN's coverage of SWAT shooting in Broward County yesterday was over the top.
C- Discourse pays tribute to Minnette Massey, whose last day teach teaching law at UM was yesterday.
After 56 years on our faculty, here since September, 1951, Minnette Massey taught her last class today. It is very hard for me to imagine our University of Miami School of Law without this indomitable, outspoken, adorable, sometimes irascible, deeply decent, icon and pioneer of the Florida bar—one of the first women to do innumerable things in the Florida legal world.
D- Tilefortlauderdale leaves Jaye in a pizzeria in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

But when isn't WSVN over the top, overly dramatic, and sensationalist?
Every story has a title and a graphic, terror on the turnpike, horror in hallandale, Dolphin Dilemma, Cuba Conundrum... all accompanied with theme music too.
I don't hate too many things but WSVN is definitely on my list.
I can't believe Massey is retiring!
Although I never had her (I studiously avoided taking her class, much to my own detriment, in retrospect) I always had tremendous respect and awe for her.
She and the late John Gaubatz were two of the tough-but-fantastic professors that UM used to boast.
I sincerely hope she'll keep on keeping on, now that she's left UM -- although this feels like when a Supreme Court justice retires - they only let go at the very end. (Except for that jerk, O'Connor).
