I laugh as they intimate that Barack Obama is somehow going to replace the Statue of Liberty with one of Karl Marx. I laugh as they mock the very politicians that offer this country relief from the pile of crap we've been living and fermenting in for the last 8 long years. I laugh as they can't get it through their thick skulls that America has changed and they are too bull-headed to change with it. But why am I so surprised? These are, after all, the PWVFB.
To these people, these pieces of dead wood, who cling to this desperate and reckless message of fear and anxiety that they envision as their only hope come November, I say...Get the f**k outta the way because the times, they are a changin'....

Aaaaamen to that!
I too welcome relief from the Bush administration. We have lost more personal freedom under it than any other time in history. I would welcome a Democrat into the White House as the lesser of two evils.
But I sure hope they still realize the cold hard fact that we are at war, and people are working right now to maim and kill us. That's not said to cause fear. It is a reality we face. We can get out of Iraq. We can make nice with the UN and Europe. But whoever is in office must never forget that radical Muslims are working as hard as they can to commit another 9/11 or worse, and not because we are big bad Americans, but because they believe their religion says they must convert us or kill us.
We need someone to reverse much of what the Bush administration did. But we must not forget the fact that we are at war.
I don't think anyone who was alive on 9/11 will soon forget it or its ramifications. But there's more to fighting radical Muslims than dropping bombs.
I hope we get a president who takes our homeland security serious enough that instead of spending hundreds of billions of dollars overseas, he/she will realize that protecting the homeland is more than taking our shoes off at the airport and dumping our water bottles at the security checkpoint.
I hope we get a president who hires thousands of Border Patrol personnel in an attempt to catch every single person trying to enter this country illegally in all areas of the country including our northern border and Florida. That will strengthen our homeland security.
And I hope we get a president who doesn't use the serious threat this nation faces to scare Americans for his and his party's personal gain.

SCG states: "We have lost more personal freedom under it than any other time in history."
SCG, what "personal freedoms" have "you" lost? Why don't you read about the John Adams administration during the Alien and Sedition Act Prosecutions, and the Civil War and WWII and then you can talk to me about people really losing their freedoms.
You haven't lost bupkis.
Bite me, Senor. And after you are done, read this, counselor.
T-shirts, Cigar Man. Effin' T-shirts.
Jeff,
While it is true that law enforcement officials violate people's First Amendment rights on a daily basis, it is also true that the courts have ultimately sided with the First Amendment in these cases.
Unfortunately, it takes a legal battle to do it, but maybe after enough lawsuits, law enforcement will eventually get the message.
Until then, it is crucial to keep fighting for those rights.
Or else we might very well lose them.
Cohiba,
Why is it that the only time you comment is to defend the Bush Administration?
I comment to correct inaccurate statements. If the statement had been about any other admin. I'd say the same thing.
I'm a civil rights lawyer. I practice 1st amendment and other areas of the law. There are technical violations sure and they've had them for over 50 years in a panoply of cases. But for some putz to say that their civil rights have been deprived more now than anytime in history is silly. False.
You may have a 1st amendment case; but it is an individual case against certain individuals; does not mean all of our 1st amendment rights have been deprived.
Mr. Bite Me and SCG have not had their civil rights violated and I challenge them to prove it to me with evidence that "their" rights have been violated.
Heck, more rights were violated under the LBJ administration; Chicago 1968; etc.
So that's why I comment.
Mr. Bite Me, you think that's the only 1st amendment verdict in the last 50 years? Why don't you go to the library and read the annotations for 42 USC s. 1983 under the 1st amendment. You'll see a lot of cases going both ways.
What standing do you have to charge a civil rights violation?
So Mr. Bite Me, go Bite yourself dude.
Cohiba,
What I was trying to say was that we have not been deprived of our First Amendment rights.
This is exactly why I am fighting my case. Because I know my rights are still there.
True, I have a case, and since then, I've been documenting other cases on my blog, and it happens more often than it should.
I will never go as far as saying this is the worst its been in history because our history is not exactly rosy.
And we should expect to progress as a society.
But unfortunately, there have been signs of regression since the Bush Administration took over.
That t-shirt case is a perfect example. And there have been others.
Just because you, personally, have not had your rights violated doesn't mean other people haven't.
Well let me rephrase that. There have been many cases where people have been "deprived" of their First Amendment rights, including my case.
But the rights are still there. We have not "lost" them.
I think the argument in this thread is going in two extremes with one person saying we've lost our rights completely and the other person saying that because it used to be worse than it is now, we should be appreciative and accept things the way they are.
cohiba:
Saying my case was just another First Amendment case is like saying Hitler was just another hothead who hated Jews.
Tell you what. Silkscreen your best Hillary Clinton photoshop on a tee shirt, go to a Clinton rally and get arrested by agents of the U.S. Government for wearing that tee shirt and then come back here and tell me that you haven't lost any of your personal freedoms.
When Americans see this crap happening, we all are silenced, we all are put in fear and we all have lost our personal freedoms.
Tell me, Senor, when did your ideology start clouding your legal sensibilities?
Well, Jeff, my Godwin's Law t-shirt says you're a putz.
Enjoy your 800k. Hope some bully doesn't kick your pasty ass for it on the way home from school.
With a 19 percent approval rating, Bush is officially the lowest rated president in the history of the United States.
